  1. Thanks for your review. I'm probably the only one, but that limited capacity sounds dreamy. HA. Too often I've been on ships walking around trying to find a seat somewhere or a chair by the pool. I can see how some would view it as sad though. Do you know who your Cruise Director was on the Joy? We're heading out in March, so I definitely expect more capacity then.

  2. Hi. Looking at possibly booking an Aft Haven on the Joy. But I have a few questions if anyone can answer, I'd appreciate it. I've heard tales of crazy vibrations in this kind of room -- especially when the ship is traveling at top speed. I also have a question about the king bed because I've heard varying things. I've heard that it CANNOT be split, but then I watched a video that said it could be split, so I'm a little confused. Traveling with a friend, so would like for it to be able to be split, but if it can't be, we can work around that as well.

No trip for all of us on the 16th

Dear Valued Guests and Travel Partners,

We are working to navigate the fluid public health environment while delivering a safe and healthy onboard experience. Today, as a result of COVID-related circumstances, we decided to cancel Norwegian Breakaway cruises with embarkation dates through and including January 23, 2022.

    Yep. Just got the letter.

I am on the same cruise; it’s Wednesday now, and I can confirm what NCLGirl says. It’s a well above average cruise. More as we go along.

Would love to hear more since I’m on that ship on 1/16 as long as my traveling companion doesn’t test positive.

Sorry to sound dumb but thanks. Yes... 15th escape is now showing “sold out”. I’m elated. I waited for this versus FCC. 10k was on the line.

I sail on the Breakaway leaving New Orleans this Sunday and at this point, I wouldn't mind a cancellation. Although I'd like to know before I get to New Orleans (unlike those poor souls who had their 1/5 cruise cancelled on 1/4 after they were already in Miami).

  6. I've read through the boards and have heard various things about the Peace of Mind Policy. Is it still in existence? Is it just hidden somewhere in the depths of the Norwegian site where they don't want you to see it? I am on the Breakaway on 1/16. BUT my traveling companion woke up this morning with a sore throat. We're both getting PCR tests today, which means results should be back by Friday. However, we're heading into New Orleans on the 14th. I've been holding off cancelling this cruise because we were both feeling fine. Until now. (I'm hoping she's just being paranoid). But in case she's not, what IS the policy? I remember it used to be 48 hours before sailing, but I'm not sure that's still the case. We purchased this cruise with a credit card (and we just got upgraded to the haven 😪). So neither one of us would really like to cancel, but in the off chance, does anyone have any tips for someone who has never had to cancel a cruise?

I was on Breakaway in December and they certainly did enforce the mask requirement unless you were seated in a restaurant.

    it is…..what it is….

if you dont want to wear a mask…..don’t go…

This is good to hear as I am going on the Breakaway in mid-january. I plan on masking...perhaps even double masking and spending lots of time on my balcony. I've heard varying things about the enforcement of masking on other ships.

  8. Just curious what your experience is like. I was recently chatting with a woman who is on the escape or encore (was there for New Year’s Eve) who posted a picture of a massive crowd for a party—all of the partygoers were supposedly unmasked and not masked during most of the cruise. She said that NCL was not enforcing the mask policy, which I find hard to believe, so I’m curious for anyone who is currently on a sailing or just returning from one to give me some additional perspective since I’m leaving on the 16th fully vaxxed, boosted and 100% ready to mask up.

  9. I’ve done a solo cruise as well and like others have said, it was a great time. I’m a very very introverted person, but I always met people at the bars and in the casino if I wanted to talk to them, and if I didn’t, I was fine with just people watching. I like it, too, because you can be on your own schedule. I’ve just booked an 11-day solo cruise for the Panama Canal for thanksgiving next year and I can’t wait!
