I received the letter but was oblivious I had booked a spa category stateroom. We booked a two bedroom grand suite for 2021. I am a little confused.

We are in the same situation. We're booked in a 2 bedroom grand suite for March 2021 on Symphony. We booked through next cruise and she had to do it under 2 booking numbers (4 people each), but then linked them to the same suite. I was unaware it was a spa category.

Before I have a panic attack, does the letter read that we will still be in the same exact cabin we originally booked? So we will still have the 2 bedroom grand suite? What exactly are we losing by the loss of the "spa" category?

The 100 day ban is from March 14th and was extended https://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/pdf/No-Sail-Order-Cruise-Ships_Extension_4-9-20-encrypted.pdf I am hoping the phases work out and those out of work can go back and business owners can reopen and sooner rather than later all while we mend and get well. I am not a government official or even a good guesser but I can hope our cruise will sail on July 27th. I agree Mslynn79 about banking the on sailing but I sure am praying we do.

No, it is a 100 days from the new publication date of 4/9, which puts it at July 24th. And you said June 27th in the post I quoted, not July.

That said, it may not matter either way on the Panorama as I highly doubt California will allow it and out of it's ports in June or July. Our Governor has already said mass gatherings of any size (100s or 1000s) will be negligible for June, July & August short of some drastic changes. I would say embarking and disembarking a ship of that size falls into that. The cruise lines can claim whatever they want, they will have to refer to local government.

I do however completely understand holding out hope. I think it's the only thing we can do to mentally get through this. So for you, I hope you get to sail!

Carnival said our Panorama cruise will sail on June 27th. We are ready to go with fingers crossed that the no essential travel ban will be lifted and we will be able to fly to Long Beach.

Yeah, based on the guidelines currently for CA and the plan our Gov. laid out, I wouldn't bank on that cruise happening. Also, aren't cruise lines on a 100 day ban that goes until the end of July anyway?

Carnival cancelled my August cruise. When I got my first notification there was a $400 cancellation charge.  I contacted my PVP and he said that was a computer generated letter and to just igore the charge. A couple of weeks later I received another notification with the charge removed. So I would just ignore this for the time being.

I'm interested in this too. We're on Panorama at the beginning of August and haven't heard anything about our cruise. Did they cancel it for something other than Covid?

Here in Ca. Newsom just announced Ca. may start lifting stay at home guidelines may 1st.  They want Ca. to be fully open for June - August.   Summer vacation months bring billions to Ca.  Now money talks. Cruise lines bring billions into the us port cities,            they keep many port cities afloat.  If you open your port but I keep my port closed you get all the money,  Virus, what Virus.

That is NOT at all what he said! For starters he made it very clear that any mass gatherings that include 100s or 1000s of people will be negligible for June, July & August. He also said nothing about trying to lift guidelines May 1st. First, it will be up to local governments when SIP orders are lifted and there are also 6 qualifying factors that have to happen before he'll even consider reopening anything. He gave ZERO dates yesterday. He even said reopening schools in the Fall is a maybe and that if so they'd have to do it in a way that allows for social distancing. He did say he hopes to have more answers in 2 weeks.

I'm really trying to figure out where you got this because it so far off from what he said.

The website ---> HERE doesn't say anything about pigs.

There is an email adress at the top of the page of you want to contact them.

Thanks. I went to their website last night and noticed the same thing you did. I ended up messaging them on FB to ask and they replied that they do, but they sent me the one (and only) picture I can find online, so I still don't feel 100% comfortable with their answer. I did see a tripadvisor review that said they do have the pigs, but it's not exactly as described and there wasn't any further explanation.

Checking back in after staying at Hotel Morrison.  It was okay.  We would rate it about 7.5 out of 10.
(we used hotel shuttle service to POM.)
We’ve typically stayed at Hampton Inn Plantation and will go back to that.

Was the cost of the hotel shuttle service to POM?

That is absolutely correct. When we got our EDL, we were told by the DMV representative that the EDL is the MOST secure. More than the Real ID. We had to show our passports, DL, Social Security cards, and proof of residency to obtain it. We cross the Canadian border frequently, so now I no longer need to bring my passport to do so.

Interestingly, these were the same requirements to get my Real ID in California - the same exact documents (and actually 2 different categories of proof of residency). So while my state doesn't offer an EDL, it sounds like my Real ID is actually just as secure.

  9. I apologize for hijacking your thread, but I am really confused about Carnival's internet packages and don't want to bog down the page with another thread.  Btw, congrats on the impending arrival of your grand baby! It's been a long time since I've sailed Carnival and RCCL doesn't have these tiers. We will also be on Panorama.

If I get just the social is there any way to check email if I use an app for it or is it strictly the social apps they have listed?

If I wanted to use iMessage (or texting), which package would we need? We're all on iPhones.

Can one package be shared among multiple people as long as it's only one device logged in at a time?

I also apologize if these questions have been asked. I haven't found the answers to exactly what I'm asking.

  10. A few more questions if anybody knows...

    1) I see on other class ships they list bridge and backstage tours as a perk. Is this included on Symphony as well?

    2) again, on other classes I see the 24 room service listed. Is it the same for Symphony

edit: the free cocktails are only in the evening in the suite lounge, correct? But the lounge itself is open longer.

I’m working on trying to find older threads related to this as well.

  11. I haven’t sailed Carnival in about 20 years, having sailed RCI the last few years. We just booked Carnival Panorama for next Aug and I’m curious on policies, since I only know RCI.

Are we able to bring any of our own wine onboard? What about water/soda?

Are the only two beverage packages available the soda and the all inclusive? Is there a middle ground one that offers specialty coffees, non-alcoholic drinks, etc?

Anything else I should know in general?

    Thanks!

  12. Thank you both! See this is why I asked! Some of what she was saying didn’t add up to the little I remember reading here in the past.

I’ve looked over the sheet and it seems like she was mistaken - there is access at Labadee, but not CocoCay (as of yet at least). So sounds like booking our own cabana is what we need to do.

She also said that the kids all get the soda package, but I’m not seeing that any place in the perks. Do you know?

With the reserved seating for shows, so we still need to make reservations for those or can we just show up?

  13. I want to first thank everybody for their help with our Alaska cruise on Ovation. We just got back yesterday and while on board visited Next Cruise and left with a cruise booked on Symphony for March 2021 in a 2 bedroom grand suite.

So now I need your help! I know I have seen mention of a genie on the boards, but will admit to not paying much attention since I never dreamed we’d ever be in a suite. What can the genie help us with? What perks are there for being in a suite? She went over some of them, but I feel like the true experts are on this board! I can’t get the search feature to work properly on my phone, but if there are threads that discuss this (which I’m sure there are), please feel free to link instead of answering again.

She mentioned there being some suite area or cabanas on CocoCay (and we’d only be responsible for a housekeeping fee), but I can’t find anything out there that agrees with her. I see there are cabanas in our cruise planner already. If we want one, should I book it now. Is there risk in waiting for the genie to do it?

And last question- sailing out of Miami, but mock bookings look like flying in/out of Ft. Lauderdale may be cheaper. Is transferring easy between the two? And better to stay the night before in Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.

    Thank you

  14. Hoping somebody is able to help! We currently have The Key booked on our upcoming cruise, but after reading all the reviews on here, along with the changes in terms since we booked, I’m wanting to cancel and just book internet.

Am I correct that if I buy the 4 device option, they just give me 4 codes? Can I give two of those codes to my kids in another cabin? It’s currently on sale in my cruise planner for $26.99, but if says per person. I only need to buy one to get the 4 devices correct? I know that last one is stupid question, but I want to make sure I fully understand before canceling The Key and just buying internet.
