    Wow!! Did you take it?

    Hi there

No, we really want to do the cruise and have already flown in to stay in Fremantle for a few days pre cruise. Yesterday things really ramped up on the offer front though, three different offers, culminating in this one - so if anyone had decided to wait out and see what more Princess would offer before accepting a Moveover then they  will have got an amazing deal.

Special Free Cruise Offer ** DONT MISS OUT **
Princess is extending a special offer to guests booked on the 03 November 2018 Sun Princess sailing. Move from this cruise to any other Princess voyage up to 30 nights worldwide and receive:

    * 100% of your cruise fare back as refundable onboard credit * Free Princess cruise up to 21 nights + either 3 night(C905) or 7 night (C906) * Complimentary upgrade pending availability * Up to $500.00 per person air change fees (EzAir protected) * Up to $1000.00 per person out of pocket expenses (receipts required) This offer is only available by calling 1300 300 621 in Australia or 0800 446 865 in New Zealand, but please act quickly as this offer will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. * Travel agencies will receive a $100.00 bonus commission per cabin if offer is accepted. Please note, cruise fare refund excludes Taxes, Fees & Port Expenses.

  3. Goodness me - Princess must have seriously over booked the cruise - this has just arrived in my in box.

A question for those who have booked with a discount TA and then get a move over/down offer from Princess with a refund of your cruise fare.

Is the refund the amount you paid with the discount TA or is it the list price at the time you booked the cruise?

Hi there, from the email we received it stated as follows -

Travel agencies will receive a $50.00 bonus commission per cabin if offer is accepted. Please note, cruise fare refund excludes Taxes, Fees & Port Expenses.

I imagine the refund will be the price you paid at the time of booking less the taxes etc mentioned.

  5. We all dream of the elusive upgrade offer, today we got a previously unheard offer - headed as a Moveover offer, then reads as a Downgrade Offer...... Basically an offer to move from a higher level grade cabin, balcony, outside etc,  to an interior, with the offer of a refund of the cruise price plus a $100 credit for a specialty restaurant! The terms then explain you will get the refund money as room credit, to be used on the ship before the end of the cruise! Enticing- maybe not. Has anyone else been offered irresistible this 'perk'?

  6. Hi, we are hoping cruise round the coast of Australia - from Brisbane north and hopefully round to Perth, I have seen a couple of itineraries but they include PNG, which we do not particularly want to do. If anyone has done this route or has advise on the best ships/routes it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  7. Hi has anyone used either of these tour companies please, Noumea Shore Tours or Atmosphere Tours Port Vila, if so which were your favourite tours covering the best must see highlights. Also has anyone any advise on what to do/see in Santo Vanuatu. Thank you.

  8. ;)

Will do! Now, I'd better let these folks have thread back. lol.

Oh no no Fitzget and Towel Critter, your comments are far more relaxing after the headache I have from this minefield topic! I only popped into see if I could glean more on what to pack/wear for MDR. ;)

  9. I will be disembarking in Sydney after a 24 South Pacific cruise from the U.S. I plan to get my AUD from an ATM. However, the next evening I will be flying to Auckland and arriving late. I realize that I can probably get NZD at the airport, but can I get NZD at a Sydney ATM the day before. It would be nice to have some NZD ahead of time so I don't have to deal with it when we arrive in Auckland so late?

I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions. Thanks!

Hi there, you will not be able to get NZ dollars from the Australian ATM but, depending on the time, there should be a Bureau de Change. Although I would probably wait as there are ATM's at Auckland airport. Have a wonderful time.

  10. Hi - help please, I'm getting confused re the dress code for formal/elegant nights on the Spirit South Pacific cruise. We have cruised with Carnival previously in the Caribbean and on formal nights most people really made the effort and dressed up. I have been reading on on some older posts this is not the case on the Spirit, jeans are being worn and there is a generally relaxed dress code. I have seen the dress info given on the Carnival web site but would love to hear from anyone who has cruised with them recently to know what to pack.

  11. Are you sure the video showed a balcony cabin? It sounds more like a 4K (Interior w/ french doors). None of the balconies have a fully obstructed view.

Thank you for your very quick reply. This was supposed to be a travel agent tour, which I assumed would give an accurate description of the cabins! I have just had another look at the video and although the cabin is described as a balcony when I have checked the number it is as you have mentioned, a category 4K. So all good now and we are ready to book. Thanks again.

  12. We are looking at a cruise on Carnival Spirit in September, one of the options is for a guaranteed balcony. We have always chosen our cabin before, but thought this may be a good saving, about a$1000 cheaper each than selecting a cabin. That was until I watched a YouTube cabin tour, on Spirit I appreciated we may have been allocated a restricted view but the video tour showed a cabin that looked to have the view totally, not partially, obliterated by a life boat. I have spoken to Carnival and the rep assured me all cabins have some view. Has anyone had any information regarding these cabins please?
