  1. Has anyone done the Chefs Table on the Summit?  If so - what did you think and when was the dinner held.  On the description it states 5:30 first night of the cruise but if you read further it says that you would find out the date and time when you get to your stateroom.  Any info would be appreciated.

  2. We are having the same problem - no dining packages and very few shore excursions listed (actually says that it is not available - book on board) for our 1/26/19 sailing on Summit. I called Captains Club and they said it was too early - try back in October. For our last cruise on Silhouette we booked dining packages 6 months in advance. I guess I'll keep checking.

  3. Are there any ice machines on Silhouette? I imagine in Oceanview but anywhere else? I had knee surgery at Christmas and while I'm recovering pretty well I still need to ice it down after anything strenuous. I suspect I'll just have to ask our steward to fill our bucket every evening but something self serve would be better.

I don't remember seeing any ice machines on the ship but just ask your stateroom attendant to give you a large bucket of ice in the morning and in the evening. We asked for this and it was never a problem

  4. Were there any other tastings offered? Can you only purchase onboard? Will be on the reflection in a few weeks so I'm hoping to take part in this

I'm not sure if there were any other than Macallen tastings. But I am sure that you can purchase on board (or before thru your cruise planner - I think about $5 cheaper to do in advance).

  5. Has anyone tried the Macallan flight experience? Do you think it was worth it?

My husband is a huge Macallan fan but has stuck to the same year bottle for years so I was thinking of surprising him by reserving this experience prior to sailing but I wondered how it worked.

Is this event scheduled and in a group setting with someone in charge that talks about the different flights or can he just walk up to a bar for the experience whenever he wants to? I would hate to purchase this 'surprise' for him and then it doesn't work out with our plans due to a pre-determined scheduled day/time.

Please share your experience if you've taken part in this before.

Yes, do this tasting - I bought it for my husband who is also a fan of Macallan. There were two or three tasting seminars during our 9 night trip on Silhouette. I believe that they were all at 10:00 pm in Wine Cellars. It was very interesting (I don't drink scotch but was able to sit in). There were three different scotches to taste. Very informative. My husband even purchased a bottle on board that he doesn't have at home. Enjoy!!:)

  6. We also used Rudy several weeks ago for our tour. He was really one of the best tour guides that we have ever used. We planned in advance what we wanted to see & he did not disappoint. I had booked him about a year in advance & he was always very prompt in answering all my questions. You will be very happy with him & enjoy Acapulco!

  7. I've been considering the Malfini excursion but wondered if it was worth it. Thanks for your posts about it. Do you pay cash for the drinks there or charge them to your sea pass? You mentioned tips so I wondered if I just need cash for those or to pay for the drinks as well.

I was thinking we would be back by noon for the bbq but a picnic sounds fun there.

I am thinking that we paid for our drinks with our sea pass - I'm sure that we tipped with cash. I'm sure that Crusin4xmas can steer you in the right direction - Goodness, is last March so far away that I can't remember?:) - Have a wonderful time.........Susan:)

  8. We went on The Castaway at Malfini Beach excursion when we were in Labadee last week. Beautiful stretch of beach and there's only 30 tickets sold. There's a tiki bar with about 3 or 4 bartenders who man it. It's a beautiful peaceful place and the service is excellent. Since I've read that Haitian families live on $2 a day we tipped big right from the beginning and had all of our needs met. You get a floating mat and lawnchair as part of the price. This one is available to all passengers aboard on a first come/first served basis. It doesn't cost much and includes one drink. It's a great way to get away from the crowds aboard the ship and the people there make you feel very special. We stopped at the Cafe Promenade before leaving the ship that morning and grabbed a few sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies for a nice picnic lunch and drank tropical drinks out of coconuts while we were there. Had a blast! Remember to tip well and to book early!

Yes, I agree - My DH & I did this same excursion last March and I must say that it was really good. Because there are a limited number of tickets it was very private and felt like you were on your own island - so book early!!
