good news! We actually saw 2 different shows on our itinerary. Both awesome. Plus I;m pretty sure they offer 2 different menus per show. So that's 4 different options!
Could you please let me know what the menu choices are? We are a group of 8 with different likes and dislikes, so we would like to know what the LPC menus are before booking at $55/person. Thanks!

Royal Caribbean charges $58/pp from the port to IAH. If you are talking about a commercial shuttle such as Super Shuttle, the cost is approx. $200 for 4-6 people. You would have to book it online ahead of time and they would meet you at the port. Others could be cheaper.

Looking to book round-trip from Houston Hobby (HOU) to the Galveston Cruise Port to board Liberty OTS. Last time I cruised thru Galveston was back in 2006 with Princess and the port personnel and boarding of Princess passengers on to their shuttles was a total disaster. This time cruising w/Royal Caribbean; RCI's airport shuttles are pretty pricey.
I'm wondering if boarding RCI's airport shuttles after the cruise work smoothly these days (like NOT standing outside the terminal in line for upwards of 2 hours exposed to the elements)?
If the aforementioned shuttles are still inefficient, wondering if anyone has shuttled with both Galveston Limousine and Galveston Express shuttle services and can compare the two and/or comment on either's dependability and what type of busses are used?
Thanks in advance
Ellen
We have booked Super Shuttle from the Bush IA to Galveston because I have used them in Florida without issue and we are arriving a day early. Coming back after the cruise, we have booked the RCI shuttle as I have used them frequently on previous cruises and never had to wait outside as they have lots of buses waiting to go. It avoids trying to find a private shuttle in the madhouse of disembarkation.

Here is some information that I have rounded up for out of town cruiser's that need help with transportation to the Cruise Port.
Some of these options are cheap enough that you don't need to worry about which airport you fly into. Also note that people have told me that they have flown into HOUSTON the night before and then used these services on the day of the cruise to save over often high Galveston Hotel rates.

Thought that I would help out those that are traveling from out of the area. Next week I will do the Parking Options.
Port of Galveston Transportation
So you are flying into Houston Hobby or Bush Intercontinental and you want to get from there to either the ship or a hotel. You will also probably need a return trip as well. Your options are:
•Limo (Private Car Service, various levels)
•Shared Car or Shuttle Service (various levels)
•Cruise Line Transfers
•Taxi
•Car Rental
Houston Hobby-HOU is on the South Side of Houston (42.1 m), normally a 50-55 minute drive from the cruise terminals.
Houston Intercontinental (Bush)-IAH is on the North Side of Houston (70.1 m), normally an 80 minute ride from the cruise terminals, but this varies substantially on time and day. Plan your time accordingly.
Taxi fare round-trip from the airport to the Galveston cruise terminal can cost upwards of $250-300 from Bush Intercontinental Airport and $150-200 from Hobby Airport. (Rates vary depending on traffic.) That’s on the expensive side, but remember that usually up to four or five passengers can ride for that price. That makes the cost cheaper per person than the cruise line shuttles. Plus, with a taxi you don’t have to reserve ahead and you can leave whenever you are ready, instead of waiting on a shuttle to fill up.
Savings are usually available if you purchase round trips, are a senior, etc. be sure to ask what you qualify for.

Super Shuttle
Super Shuttle serves both Hobby and Intercontinental Airports. Known for their shuttle service, they have also added SUV and Private Car Service. (I have been using their private sedan service in some locations around the country with great satisfaction. Note: Sedan service trunk sizes vary, so I recommend SUV service for more than 3 large suitcases or more than 2 people.)

If you enter 4 adults and 1 room at the start, it should take you to 'The Villas'. I booked both suites on line.

Thanks for this info. Did you need to book a taxi van in advance for 6 people, or there we resume available at he airport and cruise port? Thanks.

I just booked 12 people at the Holiday Inn Vacation Club Galveston Beach Resort as they offer 2 bedroom suites and have a good sale on right now. The suites were $190 each/night. Good luck in your search.

We are contemplating Deck 6 AFT in the Veranda Plus category. Was there noise from Deck 5 due to the restaurant being directly below?
