  1. We did this in December.  It was really a fun and fantastic tour.  It ended up being just our family with the guide and driver.  They really made sure we were well taken care of.  The tour included the cable car ride up the mountain, the fort, rum factory, and downtown area plus a delicious lunch and plenty of drinks.  If I were looking for something other than a beach day or waterfalls, I wouldn't hesitate to book this again.

  2. It's a great time, but I would be very hesitant to do Blue Hole with a 5 year old unless he is very adventurous and comfortable in the water. There are some pretty high jumps and scrambling up rocks, rope swing, etc. I think it's best suited for kids a little older.

  3. Thanks.

Other than spa treatments and drinks, what would we use onboard spending credits for?

Is there an average amount spent?

You can use the credits for almost anything - drinks, drink packages, spa, shore excursions, on board shopping, specialty restaurants, tips, etc. It's up to you.

I'm sure there is no one average amount that works for everyone. It depends on how much you wish to spend.

  4. I am looking at the Carnivals Catamaran stingray excursion. I read that they offer to drop off at Margaritaville but have to find our way back to ship. How far a walk would it be to the port from Margaritaville?

Margaritaville is across the street from the port. Depending on which pier you tender to, should be no more than a 5 minute walk.

  5. Anyone??

We used them this past April. We had a great time. It is a nice sailboat with plenty of room. The crew was friendly and informative and they knew a great deal about interacting with the stingrays. I would highly recommend.

  6. I'm a first time cruiser and I used RCCL's website to book. For a fully paid reservation, is it still possible to get the price reduction, even as OBC? Is there any time limit to request it, or can I do so even a week after the price has gone down?

You can get a price reduction as long as it's before the final payment date. It doesn't matter if it's paid or not.

  7. Hello to you all! We will be enjoying our first cruise on the IoS this December and we are very excited! I wonder if there is anyone who can tell me what the ship will be like during this month; are there Christmas decorations and can we expect holiday-like events? And the weather! We will be on a 5 night sailing going only to Falmouth and Labadee--will we be okay bringing our suits? Were should we stay before our departure? Can anyone recommend a decent hotel? We are a family of 5 and have no need for fancy--I just want a place that includes breakfast. And what in the world will we do with our car??? Can you recommend any park and cruise locations or hotels with that offering? I know, I know, a lotta questions, a pain in the kiester.....but I surely do appreciate your help! Thanks in advance...

You can get a ton of information and opinions about where to stay pre-cruise on the Florida Departure board http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495 or for general Fort Lauderdale visitor information go to http://www.sunny.org

  8. Does anyone know how long this tour is? I am trying to plan out the rest of the day. We are in port from 7 to 4. Thanks!

We just did this tour last week. It was fantastic. It was about 4 hours dock to dock. Ship time was an hour ahead of local time. We met them at 9:15 ship time (8:15 GC time) and were back at the port by 1:30 ship time (12:30 GC time). Had time for lunch and some shopping before heading back to the ship.
