Do any of the Boston hotels offer shuttle to the cruise pier?

How long is the cruise? You wont find any hotels with a parking deal in the downtown core. You could do what the previous poster recommended-- finding a hotel with a park and sail deal for the pre cruise stay and then stay in a downtown hotel post cruise before picking up your car. 

 

Another option would be to just park at the long term lot at the airport (about $120 CAD for 7 days) and just take a taxi/Uber to and from the city. Will be a lot less expensive than parking downtown and secure. 

Our cruise is two weeks. I think we'll look near the airport for park and stay hotel. We'll drive into downtown to visit the city. If you have the name of any places that offer a parking deal let me know. Martincath recommended one, when I have a few more I'll call them and check on the deals.

We are going on a round trip cruise to Montreal next Summer. We would like suggestions for a pre and post Hotel/Motel where we can leave our car while cruising.

The last time I took the Gem in the winter we came back to find an ice sheet about 1 1/2 inches thick at the dock. The Gem broke through it and we docked in a sea of mosaic ice chunks.

Sorry to take so long to answer but I haven't read the review in awhile. We're going through the Panama Canal on the Norwegian Gem and ending up in NYC. It might be cool in SF but our ship will be breaking ice when it docks in NYC.

Just a short note to bump us up to the first page. There are 4 of us going to SF and we'll be there for 3 days before the cruise. What kind of weather can we expect. We'll be arriving Jan 21st.

It looks like I should contact the visitors bureau and get a map of the city. There's a lot to figure out before I book a hotel.

I'd like to thank everyone for the wonderful responses. I just learned about this forum and wish I had found it sooner. It will make my trip to SF a lot easier.

We normally travel to small cities and rarely pay more than $200 a nite. I realize that SF is going to be more expensive than what we are use to. Can we find a clean place in/near Union square or Fisherman's Wharf for $250?

My favorite seafood restaurants in SF are Tadich Grill (oldest restaurant in CA, dates to the Gold Rush days), Sam's Grill (also over 100 years old), Swan Oyster Depot, Waterbar and Farallon, but there are a dozen or more good ones.

Our budget is in the moderate range for both. Thanks for the info.

We'll be cruising out of San Francisco in January. We plan to arrive 3 to 4 days early because we have never visited SF. We would like suggestions on places to stay. We are big Seafood fans, so if anybody has a favorite restaurant please let us know.
