  1. I agree with the dining comments... I only want to dine with my better half and would be irritated if people are trying to offer alternatives... Blu on X is great... yes the tables are close together but my experience is that diners quickly understand who wants to chat vs. simply acknowledge and politely chat for a few minutes before focussing on ones own meal. perhaps i'm just a grumpy ***** but I enjoy 'dining out' every evening with my wife. During the day at lunch or whilst mooching around I'm more than happy to 'get involved' but dinner for me is special.

  2. Firstly, apologies if this is something that has been discussed widely in other posts... By the end of 2019 we will have cruised with Celebrity 3 times (no experience with anything else)... I have to say we absolutely love cruising with Celebrity... We're from the UK in our mid 40's. The relaxed 'non party' and very few children atmosphere on Celebrity is really what we enjoy. Our day to day work is hectic enough so when we're on holiday we love to relax... All our cruises so far have been Aqua class and I love the smaller dining experience... So here comes the question... Early 2020 I fancy a Caribbean cruise and think it could be a good opportunity to try a different cruise line. From my own research it seems Princess would be a good 'leap'... really interested to hear any other opinions. (I read the comparison on cruise critic between Celebrity and Princess)

  3. Thanks Chezmarylou... From looking on the website 7358 is the only one currently available and that looks great. However, with the whole 'MoveUp' process this could be entirely misleading as it seems a little like a housing chain - whereby one persons move is dependant on several others 'moving up'. I think i'll place a bid and just see what happens. I've searched and searched and cannot find anything terribly negative on SS...

  4. We sail early June, already have Aqua on the Silhouette and i'm umming and ahhing about the Move Up offer to Sky Suite... The Lowest bid we can place is £700pp which equates to another £50pp per day...(I also assume we get the CC points at Aqua rather than Suite level) In my eyes it may be worth bidding as the Baltic cruise is likely to involve more 'indoors' time than cruises we have later in year... never experienced a suite but have always gone Aqua. From what I can see on the forum Luminae, Michaels club and the extra space would seem to be worth it. I know it's 'personal preference' and 'what people are happy to pay'. My only concern is suite location... are there any 'undesirable' suite locations that would mean I wish i'd never moved from Deck 11 A1 cabin and risk the wrath of the better half?

  5. We stayed in 1602 last year and have booked the same cabin for both cruises this year. Overhang didn't worry us in the slightest. Blu is our big draw... From a culinary and a service perspective I found it great (though haven't eaten in the MDR) All other 'perks' I could honestly do without... I guess I would consider a standard balcony but then pay for speciality dining every evening... initial searches seem to show some cruises make it a less expensive option but then cabin location is perhaps a little less desirable.

  6. I was on Silhouette last October and used to pop down at around 6am to the Hideaway to grab my coffee in order to wake myself up, think about going to the gym and then just sit on the balcony instead 🙂... A few mornings the machine hadn't been replenished but generally it was ready for use.
