Oasis does use WOW bands now, uncertain whether Guest Services would reprogram old ones.

hi!  I just called RCCL to ask about WOW bands and they said Oasis of the Seas does not have WOW Bands yet.  I then came here and found this post.  You sailed on Oasis and they for sure have them?  I'm pretty pumped about it and just want to confirm so I can tell my party!

Hi there— while I’m not obviously not the OP, I saw your post and thought I’d reply. We cruised to Jamaica in November and I had a hard time discerning good excursion options for our 5 year old, so I empathize with you. We ended up doing a ship sponsored excursion to the Martha Brae River— it was a rafting trip on a bamboo raft.  A little kitsch, but our son loved it!!! We rode there (took about 30 minutes from Falmouth) on a bus, and then the trip down the river took about two hours— you’re seated up above the water, so you don’t get wet/- you sort of just float along— our guide was awesome with children, even let our son paddle the raft with the long pole. I would recommend at least looking into this as an option. Life vests provided. Then back to the port area.

thank you so much!!  I truly appreciate it.

Thank you all for the responses. We have purchased a couple of basic booster seats to bring with us which will enable us to use Ubers, shuttles or taxis. We don't need one for our 6yo, but he uses one at home, so we decided to get him one as well. I've read that Florida law many times, and I find it very basic since it is solely based on weight. My home state for example does have age as well as weight restrictions. We feel comfortable with the booster for my 4y/o due to the limit amount of time we will be in a car.  Additionally we decided to stay in the Blue Lagoon area due to the proximity to a grocery store to get a few last minute things. We are planning to take the shuttle to the hotel and either Uber/Taxi to and from the port. Thanks again for the suggestions.

hi there!  I will have a 4 and 5 year old with  me and had the same concerns as you.  do you mind sharing the hotel you stayed in January? would you recommend it?  I'm also going to look into booster seats that travel well.  did you use an uber for the transfer to port?  any info is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for the response. The more I read about Falmouth, the less excited I get about that stop, and even less excited to travel to Montego Bay. After reading reviews about The Hip Strip, it sounds like walking the strip may be more annoying than rewarding.  Finding a beach closer to Falmouth may be the best option. Our cruise has 2 options for Blue Waters; there's a Blue Waters beach transfer, which says it includes a complimentary beach chair, which leads me to believe the entry is also included?? And then the all inclusive for $68 each. I'm guessing by day 5 of our cruise a day of all inclusive eating and drinking isn't going to sound so great. I'll probably book the budget transfer and we can head back to the port and find a nice local restaurant for food and drinks if we so choose. Thanks again. Keep the responses coming, please.

what did you end up doing?  We are going Feb 2020 and i'm digging trying to find the best thing for our crew.  if you went to Blue Waters - did you pick transfer or all inclusive?   any info you can provide would be great. thanks so much!

We are going to be taking a cruise in March on Royal Caribbean with our children, ages 2 and 3. Our ports are Cozumel, Georgetown Grand Cayman, and Falmouth Jamaica. We plan on taking light weight car seats for the kids to get to and from the airport and to the cruise terminal in Galveston. I would rather not lug the carseats with us on excursions, so I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for toddler friendly excursions at any of these ports that would be either walking distance, or possibly some larger ground transport (like a bus).

hi there!  do you mind letting me know what you did a few years ago in Falmouth?  Currently digging to find some options for a 4 and 5 year old!  Thanks!

We've been in Falmouth several times, including 2 times with our kiddo. We went to the Red Stripe beach through RCCL excursion (nothing to write home about, but way better than staying on the ship, transportation was an old bus); and the second time we went to Blue Waters Club by ourselves (not through the cruise), and it was just as good - a nice safe beach, with family friendly activities and without the music blasting all over the beach (there was a bar with music in the back of the beach). I can't remember, but I think we took a taxi the second time.

I'd bring Harmony Youth boosters or Bubblebum boosters if your kids are 40# or more instead of harnessed car seats, if you need to. Bubblebum boosters have a good seat belt fit on kids and have a 40# minimum.

  7. I'm looking for recommendations when we stop in Falmouth.  Trying to decide if we need to spend extra money and go to a resort with a day pass OR risk it by going to a nearby beach.  Has anyone been?  I also want to limit time in the car since we wont have car seats.  If anyone has been to a resort, please let me know your thoughts.  I've been trying to review things on this site and trip advisor and cant come to any conclusions.  Thankfully I have many months to figure it out.  Thanks for your help!
