  1. The SuperStar Aquarius has been having mechanical troubles while cruising ex-Hong Kong also. The pax loads do not appear to be great. Hope this improves. Indeed Star's service onboard their ships is extremely good.

I hope you have a good cruise this Sunday. I look forward to hearing your personal input.

    Thanks.

  2. Good news from Star Cruises. People from the USA and other countries are now able to book cruises with Star Cruises ONLINE.:) This new feature is not officially launched, but is in a trial period.

Below please find instructions given to me from Star Cruises Corporate HQ.

    Here's how to do it:

*Go to Star Cruises website www.starcruises.com

    * To book your preferred cruise, enter your search at "Find my favourite cruise" and enter your country of residence, sailing date (your preferred cruise date leave destination BLANK, and your preferred departure port.

    * Once the cruises appear select the number of passengers and click search again.

    * After the search, pick your preferred itinerary, departure date and then click select. The promotions available for the particular cruise departure will appear. Pick the promotion that is applicable to you and click continue. You will be able to view the total cruise fare in US$.

    Hope this helps.

  3. kuldalai, thanks for your posts and keeping us updated. Sorry tht some ports were cancelled, but weather is one thing that we cannot control.

I believe that if the Captain thinks there is a possibility of too late an arival at SIN he may "put the pedal to the metal":D .

It will be easy for you to know, because the vibration aft will really be noticeable, especially at Mariners Patio. But it's a "good" vibration. Hard to explain in words, but I sort of like it.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise and let us all know your impressions upon your return.

    Happy sailing!

    Mike

  4. Hi Gayle, so nice to see your post. It's been a while.

I am not replying to your post with info, as I have not sailed Aquarius as yet, so I will leave that to others who have sailed.

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi to you and hope you have a great cruise aboard Aquarius in June.

    Happy sailing,

    Mike

  6. Hi boeckli---I have been sailing with Star since their inception.

Star Pisces from Hong Kong and then Taiwan's first ship, the Star Aquarius.

Of course I have also sailed from other ports including Singapore, Thailand, China and Korea. Actually I believe I have sailed aboard every ship they have had and have now.

I can't seem to place Captain Svedung. Must be getting old:D

  7. No, that is not Capt Holm in the photo. I thought the name might ring a bell to those who have asked and responded to the original question.

Give me a few minutes to go through my files and I will post a photo of Capt. Holm.

  8. Jansim hi, Glad my posts were helpful to you. Unfortunatly I do not have any photos of Suite 7317, but I have been in this suite many times. Although the balcony is smaller than the other suites, the interior space is larger. I particularly like the layout of this suite. I am sure you will be most comfortable staying in 7317.

Hope you have a great cruise and come home with wonderful memories.

  9. Hi Vera, thanks for taking the time and trouble to let us all know how the cruise is. I hope your leg of this cruise will be smooth. Will wait for your full report upon your return home.

I also had a wonderful cruise aboard Libra to Hong Kong.

  10. Hi Vera, Oh I truly wish I was able to join you and all the others, but unfortunately, my schedule does not permit it. Perhaps some other voyage.

Just have a great time and gather up wonderful experiences and memories.

  11. Hi Vera, sounds like you will be having a nice little gathering of CC members at the Bar Gemini. It is really outgoing and nice of you to arrange for this meet up. Hope you all have a wonderful cruise aboard Gemini and a great experience.

Mike' date=' on the Libra are you doing your part for the crew there.

Always have from the very first time I sailed with Star Cruises.

And I have seen in the last few years that the Taiwanese are also now more generous when it comes to tipping.

  13. Les, have no worries. Star Cruises does take good care of their employees. The staff/crew onboard Gemini will be transfered to other ships. Also, NCL will transfer a ship to Star Cruises at the end of 2008. Maybe even sooner. So the current staff onboard Gemini will have jobs waiting for them.

  14. Hi Gold Coaster,

    Welcome Aboard!

Happy that all our info was of help to you.

There are cabins onboard Gemini that can accommodate 3 pax.

They are Cat: DB (Decks 3&4) DA (Decks 6&7) These are inside cabins.

Cat: CE is an outside cabin with porthole (Deck 2)

Not all of these cabins can hold 3 or 4 pax, so I advise that you ask your TA or contact Star Cruises to find out which cabins can accommodate a third pax.

    Hope this helps.

    Mike
