I am a solo traveler who is severely hearing impaired and need to lip read.
I have a button badge to wear which says "I am Deaf, I need to Lip Read" but people don't seem to comprehend that I actually do need to.
As masks seem to be here to stay for a while has anyone in a similar situation any advice for me apart from toting a pen and pad to offer them. 😉I already have organized the "deaf assistance package so it is more about interacting with people.

If you would prefer the Non Drug option I swear by Ginger in any of its forms. Personally I stock up on Ginger Beer and or Ginger sweets.

Anyone stayed in this cabin and can enlighten me ?

Thank you sewgood and tccruiser your comments are helpful.
Yes it is the Hawaii trip and I was gambling that on such a long cruise Teens would be a rarity.
I expect the connecting door will turn out to be a non issue as in all questions, some have good experience and others bad.
Either way I will not let it spoil my trip.

Hi Rick & Jenny, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately even at this early stage cabin options are severely limited so I chose what I deemed the best of the rest and frankly I prefer a personal balcony.
I will definitely check out B731 for any future cruises.

I am contemplating a 35 day cruise in this cabin and would like to hear from cruisers who have recently resided here.
I can only find comments from 2010 so if anyone can give e any current information i would be grateful.
I am a 73 year old male travelling solo and am concerned about closeness to the teen center and the connecting door with A720.
I am hoping the length of the cruise will mean fewer teens 😀
Any other relevant information would be gratefully received.

Thank you Joseph, I wasn't sure if each battery could be 300WHr or the combination of 2 batteries = 300.
I certainly would feel more comfortable carrying a spare 300 battery.
I have heard horror stories re China travel and batteries so that is not on my radar.
All I need now is for NZ to permit cruise ships 😬

Thank you, 10Km is around 6 Miles and 100Kg is around 220lb for those still on imperial measures.
Guess I am just an old man being paranoid but as a solo traveler I like to be prepared and reduce the anxiety levels.
Perhaps I should take my Avatar with me. 😄

I am considering buying a foldable mobility scooter that the Blurb says will do 10Km per charge.
I am less than 100Kg so weight is not an issue.
My fear is getting stranded somewhere away from the ship though realistically I will either be on a tour or self exploring relatively local to the port.
Lots of posts about aboard ship use but I can find no comments on usage ashore in relation to range.
My question is, do folk find that sufficient or do you carry a spare battery when using it for shore excursions ?
Question 2: Airlines say you can carry on a spare battery if less than 300KWhr does this mean you can take primary battery AND another ?
The airline wording is a little ambiguous and contacting them they just quote the document wording.
Any real life users had problems or suggestions ?
