    When is an offer not an offer?

    The offer implied you could use OBC for all items listed in their offer prior to boarding, and as we are used to doing this with Celebrity we asked them to honour the offer in their email. We have lots of OBC so not a problem we will upgrade onboard.  This is our first cruise with Azamara and we are learning about how another cruise line works and also learning the hard way about their IT glitches and pre cruise problems.  However have been assured that once aboard all will be well, we are looking forward to our first Azamara cruise but it has been a learning curve.

    Hamrag you have assumed rightly.  Our onboard credit is not showing on our account after numerous times of asking.  So rang Azamara to obtain the 20% on the upgrade to our drinks with our onboard credit that they know we have.  No Can Do apparently, everything else listed on the offer but not drinks with OBC.  As OP has stated when is an offer not an offer!!!

    Seriously now-how many of you are REALLY looking at other cruise lines because of the CEO's changes going on?

    We have really enjoyed our 40 Celebrity Cruises, Elite plus,  Started to notice big differences last year and their itineraries from the UK are now very boring, can’t even do a round the UK on them.  Have now sailed Cunard and Princess.  Have one more Celebrity Cruise in October then trying Azamara in November  Have another Princess booked for 2024, much better itineraries than X and the snacks in the International Cafe knock spots off Al Bacio.  As others have mentioned Celebrity are bringing an E class to Southampton and not sure about those Infinite rooms at all. So this could be farewell to Celebrity, we will see next month.

    Thanks for taking the time out to let me know about the shows Debbie. We are bringing the grandchildren on in July and now I can book the dining knowing when the second show will be.

     

    Hope your cruise is going well. I think this is Milton's (jingle bells !!) last cruise before going home for a couple of months, say Hi when getting your 'medication' from the aft bar,,,,,,,,

    BED NEAR: BALCONY

    QUIET?: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BALCONY VIEW: is classed as obstructed but lifeboat and metal arm are not a problem with the view out

    BALCONY SIZE: Slightly larger than regular

    WIND A PROBLEM?: No

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: N0

    PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: You can hear the music from the atrium into the early hours. On our cruise they had some awful electronic music from a duet LIVE in the martini bar until early hours on a few nights. IF you are a light sleeper take earplugs. I would certainly have this cabin again but would suggest staying out until late!!!! Also had a lot of chair movement from the direction of the balcony not sure if this was just a weird neighbour or from balcony above but this was around 2.00 a.m. every night. Might never happen again but thought I should mention it.

     

    Loved being middle of the ship, very convenient for ilounge too

    Thanks for your replies. Still wasn't getting anywhere so I phoned Celebrity in UK. A lovely lady called Emma told me that 'Explorer' does not dowload the brochure properly/at all, you have to use Firefox, which I don't have.

     

    She then very kindly offered to email me the excursion brochures I needed and within 10 mins problem fixed. Could not fault the Customer Service in Weybridge. Shame the same could not be said about the website.......................

    Hi I have just searched CC for info on printing off excursion brochures as I could not find a way to print this out for my Mum who is going on a crusie with us nextand found this thread which is now a few months old. My Mum is crusing with us next month but she does not have a computer, internet etc and loves to sit and read through to choose excursions. I have tried listing the excursions into a print list but this doesn't list it properly and is illegible in parts. Has anyone any idea how I can print off a legible copy of the shore excursions for our back-to-back cruises?

     

    I could also complain about the Celebrity website which has driven me mad again this morning, I should be able to sue for 2 hours of my life back but lets not go there again!!!

    You know, I haven't posted in quite a while, what with the usual repeat postings asking the same questions which you guys have all answered numerous times but you have all just made my day!!

     

    I wondered where this post came from/was going and what it alluded to but boy was it one of the funniest I have read in a long while (small things please small minds some might say!!!)

    Booking advice for a UK customer

    Hi Sue

     

    We will meet up with you for a drink in November on the Transatlantic and trade our nightmare stories with you (and no we haven't got a drinks package - LOL) Hopefully we will get a good UK TA recommendation at last!!!!!!!

     

    We are staying on for the B-2-B with the Caribbean now, can't wait - this also marks my retirement, so your TA could be in for lots of commission!!!!!!

    Agree on the exchange rate.

     

    Never had a price drop honoured in our 20 cruises with Celebrity unless it was booked by the US TA. Our UK TA's never 'managed' to get us anything, even had to cancel on three occasions and lose our deposit and then rebooked to get the better rate/offer

     

    Have to say have never booked direct with Celebrity so that may be different. Must just be unlucky with our UK agents!!

    We always book through USA now after finding out 'the hard way' booking in UK and not having the option of matching any price drops.

     

    Just have to keep in mind the airfare is usually (not always) included with UK TA's but Celebrity's Choice Air is great and cheaper than we could find elsewhere (even do one ways!).

     

    We've also had drinks packages, tips paid, OBC, etc etc. when booking with USA TA's.

    we are also waiting for the Haifa trips to come onto cunard's website. Could anyone onboard let us know when the trips are available to passengers to book at the excursions desk. Then we can at least know when they might become available to us on the website

    I have been following this thread as we are getting on in Dubai, so a big thank you to all for keeping us updated.

     

    Just a quick question, is there a problme getting limes with the drinks at the moment? Been reported that the prices have shot up from $14 to $100 (in whatever weight they normally buy limes!) so some US ships are no longer serving limes. As a drinker of G&T with lime I wondered if there are any such problems on QE?

    Thanks for the clarification AmoMondo. I thought 'opiates' was the reason, now I know for sure.

     

    Very difficult when only one thing seems to work for pain and that just happens to be banned if travelling to a particular country. It wouldn't have changed my plans but does make things awkward for visitors who need to take a codeine based perscription.

    In answer to your question - see post 5 - Bedruthen (from Dubai) in this post stated that codeine was a derivative of cocaine - this is not true

     

    Of course cocaine should be banned but I do not understand why codeine is banned - perhaps because it is an opiate!!???

     

    As I already stated, I will not be bringing it into the country so I do not understand your comments, nor the use of your CAPITAL LETTERS!!!

     

    Oh and by the way I am not American!!!!!!
