  1. I just got off the Joy.  Never had a wait at any of them and the service was great at all of them.  We were near a window the one time we ate in the Main Dinning room but think if we were in the middle of it all it would have felt crazy.  I preferred Taste and Savor because they are smaller and felt a little more intimate.  The food seemed to be the same at all 3 and for the most part was good to very good.

Not sure if you are asking about the garden cafe and the local as well but we didn't enjoy our experience with at the local; the food seemed a bit like badly done bar food and the service wasn't horrible but compared to everywhere else seemed a little like everyone was just waking up and moving slow.

I only went to the garden cafe for ice cream and snacks (french fries, cheese, dips ect) - would recommend it for both.

  2. Ship - Joy

    Deck - 14

    Stateroom # - 14136

    Stateroom Category – Concierge (CA)

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –

It was quiet.  There are two crew doors near the room so a few door slamming noises from the hall but nothing that was problematic.  The Observation lounge is above and I was impressed with how well we were protected from that considering how busy it is all day.  I think I heard a loud stomper once or twice but that was it but might have been just general boat noises.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -

    no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –

Amazing balcony view - extra large and easy to move around.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - I think oversized

Was wind a problem? - there was wind when the ship was moving fast but otherwise not to bad.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? -

    No it was great.

    Any other comments? -

I think Concierge is a weird name for this class of cabins.  I never saw or spoke with the concierge but he did send some treats on the first and last day.  The additional perks that I noticed were getting on the boat first and special a disembarkment area, extra large room, closet and balcony and breakfast and lunch at La Cucina (a nice slower pace option to free dinning).

This room is next to an open or blank area on the deck plan.  From what I can tell it is a crew area and I think that there is a cabin on the other side of this room that I an officer must use.  In any case beside the door to that area closing loudly on an occasion it wasn't noisy.  I was little concerned about that space when booking but it was not an issue at all.

Overall was a great space and the extras that came with it were nice and I would very much recommend it.

  3. Well this thread answered a question I had about further reservations being available once we board - yeah and thanks for that.

I am sorry for those who are frustrated and disappointed by the change.  Hopefully you can get past it and enjoy the incredible trip you are about to experience, sometimes when things seem the worst you get a gift that you never expect.  Perhaps you will meet someone you might not have had a chance too otherwise or see a group of whales that might not have been visible from the Heaven.

If it is really bad then seek compensation for what you missed out on.

Hope all of those effected by the change still have a wonderful trip.

I had a room under the Observation Lounge on the Bliss back in May and there was no noise from above at any time of the day.

Oh thank you so much for the added info on the Bliss, I should add we have never been on a cruise so been doing my research and have learned so much just reading through the forums.

The Observation Lounge is carpeted, so no real noise. More noise from people dragging chairs on their balconies.

Good to hear (or not in this case🤣).  My husband and I are thinking of going on the Joy or Bliss to Alaska in late September and trying to get a feel for noise; mostly worried about getting a good night sleep so we can enjoy our days.  Thank you so much for your help and quick response.  And all the information is really been great to see, thank you so much for all of it!
