I’m now more confused, which is it: book the interior or the OV? Is there a certain timeframe that you need to do this. Next cruise talked me into the card while I was booking with them. They said that I could just take $300 off the cruise before final payment…

They told me I had to book the ocean view and they would pay the difference up to 300 dollars. Live and learn. They won't put the points back but they gave me a credit to my cc even though it was a lot less then I would have saved between the price of the interior and ocean view.

The first time they told me over the phone that I could use companion fare for two different people on the same cruise as long as I had the points to cover both. That was wrong and I only received the companion fare for one person. They should not have let the transaction go through if it was wrong but the website did. I got onboard credit for that, also a lot less than the companion fare would have been.

  2. "Second call - I had reservation # with ocean view cabin booked. I was told I couldn’t get the upgrade credit because I already had an ocean view booked. Was told I should have booked an interior and then they could have upgraded me to an Ocean View. I ask him to check with his supervisor but still got the same answer. I ended the call and tried again for a different person."

This is what I did and it was wrong. I booked an interior thinking they would upgrade to an ocean view. Wrong. You have to book the ocean view and they will pay the difference. Now we will be cruising in an interior. No problem. I haven't sailed in one for a long time so we will see how it goes. It is terrible that they give you bad advice. It is the second time they have told me wrong information when I have called.

Tourettes is generally outgrown or gets worse.  My daughter's symptoms now are basically gone. The worst was when she was much younger. I will follow what her specialists have told us, as she is far more complicated than "just" Tourettes.

Same with my daughter, much more than just Tourettes,  she would have become a hermit had we not found this, as she would not leave the house. Every day was a battle to get her out of bed.

Good luck with your daughter, we chose to not go the medical route because we feel they are poison and everything has a side effect. We are just happy that she is back to her normal and living life well.

Of course my kid has had to learn a lot of coping mechanisms to avoid the stares and comments when the tourettes flairs and the spastic tics begin. Ships have plenty to do and spaces to escape. It is actually a great vacation, as you can really customize it to what works for you.

My daughter, now almost 15, had these same symptoms show up in November of 2020. It started out with her saying the word "honk" quite often while in conversation and although we would all just laugh it off she would get annoyed at the fact that she could not stop it. Then she started with the head tics where her head would jerk back every so often. Then the anxiety started. She would not want to leave the house. In the store she would sometimes go hide because there were too many people for her to cope. Then she would stim and flap her hands when she was anxious or overwhelmed. I found something that helped and now she no longer needs it. She has never seen a doctor for it and is completely over all of her symptoms.

This is called Brillia. I ordered it directly from their online site. The effects are not instant as it has to build up in the system but I am so thankful that I found it because now she lives a very "normal" life. She makes friends instantly on every cruise as soon as she gets in the teen club.

I wish you the best and if you are hesitant maybe somebody else may want to try it. My husband's brother is taking it for anxiety and it is helping him, too.

Is this new?  Because normally I have selected a time then gone back in later to add my other info.  Both on app and tablet.

Try updating app or reinstalling app.

Updating and reinstalling is what got me locked out of the app. I finally had to create a new password on the PC and then I could use it to get back into the app. The cruise out of Vancouver requires you to check in 45 days out on the app. Will not let you do it on the computer. My second leg from Seward to Vancouver lets me check in on the computer. It is only cruises originating out of Vancouver that requires that you do the check in on the app. As far as if you can do the arrival time before the rest, I am not sure. I had already checked in for my Vancouver cruise before this whole debacle and it only affected me checking into my second leg from Seward.

When they say check in on the app, they only mean at the port.  You should be able to do the hard check in on your computer, and then the app will have the day of check in stuff- check in seapass code, the safety videos and what not.

At this point, you should at least try to check in on a computer instead of the app and see if you can finish.

Nope, you literally cannot check in at 45 days on the computer. Only on the app. I had the same issue.

You purchase it and it will be in your cabin when you get there.  I purchased 2 for our Alaska cruise in Sept. 2022 and was told they were sold out and I would get a refund.  Fortunately for me our genie found one and got it for us.  They are very nice fleece blankets and we have enjoyed the memories it brings.

This ^. People saying they were in their cabin are just saying that is where they found it after having purchased it before the cruise. Ours was not in our room when we got there so we asked the cabin steward and it was there when we returned from dinner.

I'll be boarding for the PC in 3.5 weeks.

This is the first I've seen rumor of Samba Grill possibly being removed from Allure during it's "Amplification". It's been pretty much established that Sabor will be going away, likely replaced with Portside BBQ.

    Edit:

I just looked at the cruise planner for our PC cruise, and I can still book Samaba. So I guess it's either sticking around (not necessarily in the same location) or they'll be refunding people that pre-booked it. 🤷‍♂️

I can still book Samba Grill for my May cruises, as well.

We'll be on Radiance this September/October for a Panama Canal cruise from Vancouver to LA, then LA to Tampa. Someone told me that the carpets smelled bad, so, hopefully, maybe carpets, some furniture and bedding will be replaced!

I remember seeing someone say that they had seen rolls of carpet on the Radiance. Not sure where they were storing them that someone would see them.

  11. We are on the second leg of a side to side. First was on the Allure and now on the Mariner. Last day of the Allure I got a message to come settle my account. My credit card on file was not working. I settled in cash even though I had other cards with me. The card in question is my BOA Royal Caribbean card. I am not even close to my limit. I have never paid late. I checked my account online, could not see a problem. Get on the next ship and have them check and they see no problem. Things happen, it's good to be prepared. I always take more cash than needed.

  12. I am on Mariner right now. We had dinner at 5:30 last night, first night of a 5 day cruise. We are smack in the very middle of 3rd floor. Every single table we could see was full.

We just got off of the Allure but never did the main dining room on that cruise.

We were on the Ovation at the end of September and many of the seats were empty the whole cruise.  I was really surprised how full it was last night.

Royal has your luggage tags with you travel documents on line. You need to print them off. You then fold them and stable them to your bags before boarding.
the Amazon holders are nice you can put the tag inside and attach to your bags but they are not required.

The biggest number is what deck you are on. The picture shows what part of the ship. Your cabin # is on it if you have been assigned one. It is added on to the deck number.Looking at the one on the right it is deck 8, room 8831. There is also the day the ship embarks and your crown and anchor status at the bottom.
