You can get any of the Sushi on 5 drinks at the World Class Bar. Just ask. My vote is also for the Zacapa Old Fashioned there. Does everyone know that the grated ingredient is dark chocolate? French Caribbean in the afternoon. It is made with coconut rum.

I remember they used grated chocolate in the past, they are using this on the solstice now.

When you book, all of the OBC you are entitled to will show on your Celebrity Booking Confirmation.  That is the amount to go by.  If there was a price adjustment (if applicable) you would know the amount and it wouldn't be unexpected.

If I knew I was getting $1,100.00 OBC and $1,700.00 magically appeared, I would not use the extra money, especially knowing how Celebrity is with IT issues.  If I knew I was getting $1,700.00 and it changed to $1,100.00 without booking anything for $600.00 then I would be on the phone with my Booking Confirmation in front of me to get it corrected.

OBC magically appearing = do NOT spend unless you know it is valid.  😉

If the $1,100.00 included the original $600.00 Retreat OBC, then Celebrity did not drop your $600.00.  They just accidentally added an extra $600.00 and then took it back when the mistake was realized.

For future reference,  ask before booking and get written confirmation of everything you are supposed to get.

I know prior to booking what my perks are and I make sure that's what I get once booked.

    Removed double comment 🙂

To the second comment I did specifically ask and they didn't know. My doc still says the above which is all the agent could quote to me.

Do I need to be calling and ask for a Celebrity Booking Confirmation?

Are people assuming that I knew the $1700 was an incorrect number? Because I was shocked it was so high, but had no idea what amount would be included since I don't have a "Celebrity Booking Confirmation" to reference. I don't even know how/why they have arrived at the $1100 figure.

My costco confirmation email shows Additional Shipboard Credit (per guest, up to four guests)

I got the email with what I thought was an inflated amount checked  my confirmation knew it was an error.

I do not have a "booking confirmation" that I know of. I booked Costco Travel and have docs from them. Have never received anything from Celebrity until the OBC email 3 days ago. When booking the TA could not even tell me the OBC amount I would get for Retreat room.

Even the doc from Costco says: "Additional Shipboard Credit (per guest, up to four guests)"

On celebrity I can't view or print travel docs or Xpas..

So how would I know the $1700 they showed me was not correct. Where do they even get the $1100 figure they give me now?

Yes…I spent the OBC that was in my account on excursions and specialty dining and then today I got this strange e-mail saying due to a change in my reservation I owe money on my account or things will be canceled…they want the money by 10/2…my cruise isn’t until October of 23..I really would rather not lay out the money now..looks like I will be looking at private excursions that I only need deposits for..

I think this was not a good way to handle the situation..the email was so unclear..and since it was their error they maybe could of given a more generous date especially since the cruise is over a year away.

Your example is the exact fear I was concerned for others who had spent their funds.
This was handled incorrectly by Celebrity no doubt. I'm so sorry

  6. Hello cruisers!

This is our 4th cruise 3rd with celebrity. So still a newby.

On the 26th 3 days ago we got an email to check our on board credit. We had been looking at the IOS app which wouldn’t show the OBC.

Logged in it was $1700. We were excited, this was more than expected. We started dreaming and planning for excursions and dining.

This morning it dropped to $1100.

I wondered if this was an error or something I had done wrong by not booking fast enough.

I called Celebrity website assistance. Was quickly connected to a tech who couldn’t find anything wrong but only showing the $1100, said needed to transfer to his CC department, He remained on hold for a long time until the next lady tried to help, she also could not find the problem. She transferred me to the "Retreat representative". Who after again explaining and another hold she advised their system has improperly given $600 to all retreat guests and that I would only get $1100. That the system has been removing that amount from all travelers in the past day. That even if I had booked with the $1700 showing the remaining balance would have just fallen $600 when the system removed that code.

All the agents were super nice just unable to fix the "problem" to my satisfaction you could say.

So 38 min phone call later, I understand its and error but it is a very disappointing moment here to have our hopes up then dashed.

SO, heads up to Retreat guests! This has allegedly happened too many others she said.

  7. We are on the ship now.

Captain said routine maintenance divers are down. Sorry for the delay but we will still make coco cay on time - “Safety is our number one priority”.

Oceanaria was canceled due to wind while still docked. “Safety is our number one priority”.

Supposed to dock coco cay 7am and off by 8am.

9am still at sea, approach coco cay and abort. Captain says wind to strong - “safety is our number one priority.”

What I sill would like to know, because safety has nothing to do with this. Is why with our unlimited dining package they block off no reservations allowed for 150, Chops and Giovanni’s table for Feb 14th whole day. Only if we purchased $75 per person meal can we enjoy any of those on that day. I don’t know if I missed fine print that they could do this for a holiday but feels like I was misled.

  8. For Allure sailing feb 9 out of Miami:

After the latest news, we’ve decided to implement a new travel restriction where, regardless of nationality, any guest or crew member traveling from, to, or through mainland China or Hong Kong less than 15 days prior to a sailing will be unable to board any of our ships. Additionally, we’ve tightened our secondary health screening requirements and the following guests will need to undergo extra screenings to ensure safety at the cruise terminal:

    • Guests or crew members that have been in contact with individuals that have traveled from, to, or through mainland China or Hong Kong in the last 15 days.
    • Anyone that holds a Chinese or Hong Kong passport – regardless of when they were there last.
    • Anyone that feels unwell or demonstrates flu-like symptoms.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING ONBOARD TO HELP PREVENT THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS?

    • After consultation with medical experts and public health authorities, we’ve decided that regardless of nationality, any guest or crewmember traveling from, to, or through mainland China or Hong Kong less than 15 days prior to their sailing will be unable to board any of our ships. We regret to have to do this, but due to the recent increase of coronavirus cases around the world, this precaution will help avoid the spread of this virus. We take this very seriously and have a responsibility to maintain a safe and healthy environment onboard our ships, as well as in the ports we visit.
    • Additionally, we’ve tightened our secondary health screening requirements and the following guests will need to undergo extra screenings to ensure safety at the cruise terminal:
      • Guests or crewmembers that have been in contact with individuals that have traveled from, to, or through mainland China or Hong Kong in the last 15 days.
      • Anyone that holds a Chinese or Hong Kong passport – regardless of when they were there last.
      • Anyone that feels unwell or demonstrates flu-like symptoms.
    • We have taken numerous proactive steps to maintain high health standards onboard all our ships, especially those in Asia. This includes special sanitizing of high traffic areas, adding additional medical staff onboard, and providing consultations with medical experts guests and crew, as your safety and wellbeing is our top priority!
    • The extra precautions being taken onboard all our ships are…
      1. Before and after all sailings, the embarkation terminal and ship access points will be thoroughly sanitized.
      2. We’re sanitizing high traffic areas onboard more than what we usually do. Every evening, the public areas and public toilets will have additional cleaning and sanitization using electrostatic sprayers (a method of cleaning and disinfecting that fully covers a surface.)
      3. During each sailing, the Captain will make two announcements each day to remind guests to wash their hands often, use recommended coughing etiquette, and report any high fever or influenza-like illness symptoms immediately.
      4. We’ve also added additional medical staff onboard and we’re providing complimentary medical consultations before and during each sailing.

WHAT ARE TIPS FOR GUESTS TRAVELING ON OUR SHIPS?

    • To ensure all guests have an enjoyable cruise, we have some important tips to help keep you healthy and prevent colds, flus, and stomach viruses, both onboard and on land.
      • After using the bathroom and before any meal or snack (it’s a cruise, we know there’s lots of that), make sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
      • If you happen to sneeze, be sure to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue (or with your upper sleeve). Avoid sneezing or coughing into your hands or without covering your nose and mouth.
      • Use hand sanitizer as often as possible. Rub the gel thoroughly and in between your fingers, until your hands are dry.
    • While onboard, if you experience flu like symptoms such as chills, cough, runny nose, fever, congestion or a sore throat – it’s imperative that you immediately visit our medical facility for a complimentary checkup. Our onboard doctors and nurses are always ready to assist.
    • We’re excited to have you onboard!
