  1. Announcement came out today.

    As Canada welcomes the first cruise ships back to Canadian waters in April, Transport Canada, working alongside partners, has developed a comprehensive public health plan for cruise ships, including:

    • Crew and passengers being required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19;
    • Crew and passengers being required to self-monitor for symptoms;
    • Passengers being required to take a COVID-19 molecular test within 72-hours before boarding a cruise ship OR take an antigen test within one day of boarding a cruise ship; and
    • Passengers being required to take a COVID-19 molecular test within 72-hours before
  2. Today Canada announced their guidelines for cruising.  As I suspected having a negative Covid test is required.  Now I am trying to figure out how to get one in Vancouver.  Seeing very high prices for them.  I can get one in Florida for free to fly to Vancouver but will need to test again before getting in the ship as I have two days in Vancouver before the cruise.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

  3. I would like to get reservations for the steakhouse but would like to know which nights are the formal nights so I do not book on those nights. We are sailing on August 19th for a 8 night on the Valor. Can anyone help me with the answer to my question?:)

  4. I don't remember the cost of the umbrella because we brought our own beach umbrella. Since we drive to the port we just it was already in our truck from our many beach days in Florida. We brought it on the ship with no problem. I do remember it cost 25 dollars to rent a float for the day. Now we bring one of the spring floats that fold up in a circle. Bought it at Walmart and bring it on all my cruises. :)

  5. We brought our own beach umbrella ( drove to the port) and I always bring my own float (spring float fits in suitcase - buy at costco or walmart). Half Moon Cay much better beach than Grand Turk. GT very rocky, even with water shoes it is very difficult to get into the water (this is beach left of the pier , think to the right of pier better).

  6. Was also on this cruise. There was a pipe break on Deck 2, I think.There were as boatload of kids, most out of control, running, screaming, whistle blowing hoards late into the night with parents in vicinity completely ignoring them.

    WE were on the 7th deck and I didn't hear any kids in the night running around. There were a lot of kids though - I was surprised that people let their children run around on their own ( kids were about 8 years old). The pools were always crowded - not a inch to let more people in. The cruise was lovely though despite not going to the ports that we wanted to. There was plenty to do on the ship if you wanted to. Food was good, Guys Burgers was very busy everytime it was opened. Great fries! Good burgers. Embarkation was easy - we were off the ship and into our car by 7:50 am. Would sail this ship again - actually would probably sail any ship! No cooking, people to clean for you - what's not to like!
