I’ve been (briefly) under the fitness centre, but on a Royal Caribbean ship. It was horrendous. We were directly below leg machines that banged and vibrated our room when they were released - all the time! The noise didn’t stop when the gym was closed, because the crew were able to use the gym when shut to the passengers. We went to Guest Services after one sleepless night and we were moved to another cabin, as soon as we told them our cabin number. It was obviously a well known problem.
Ouch ! Thats horrible.

Here’s someone who booked such a cabin and regretted it:“I agree that I would never try an upgrade to a mini-suite on a Jewel class ship because there are so many cabins you don't want to end up in. That being said, if you could choose your cabin anywhere on the starboard side under the spa, library, card room, salon, or photo gallery; and anywhere on the portside under the spa, those cabins, to me, are some of the best cabins on the ship.Just don't book under the fitness center!! Made that mistake once, and the pounding of feet on the treadmills at 6:00AM was not a welcome sound!!”

We would never book a cabin under the fitness center, or any other noisy or potentially noisy public space.
As i suspected, a great help that thank you very much.

Merry Christmas to all.
Has anyone any experience of a cabin directly below a fitness center on any NCL ships and if so are there any noise problems?
Thanks.

Thanks all for this thread, we are pondering this cruise on Iona but holding our horses right now, there was a price drop on insides this week...maybe there will be one on balconies next week...we are happy cruising on either though to be honest.
No idea they had changed itinerary though..not too bothered, we are off to Hamburg for the weekend tomorrow anyway, so its kind of worked out in our favour !

We are on Explorer 2, July 16th 8 nights from Newcastle - Tui emailed us today saying Scottish ports have been removed from the itinerary and replaced with Dover, Portland and Holyhead.
They have given every passenger £100 OBC as a sorry.
To be honest, it doesnt bother us one bit, no idea what to spend the £100 on though as we upgraded our AI already haha

P&O medical centre isn't NHS. Break your ankle and who do you think will pay?
I am well aware of that thanks for your input and also have worldwide travel cover.
Covid cover - different thing entirely.

I’ve just had the email from P&O from £449 each on Britannia for 3 days. Balcony cabins only. Might be a bit pricey for me. Hubby and I should have the second jab by then but I’m not sure I’ll convince him at that price!
Agreed.

Its not for us.
BBC article says both jabs are mandatory - fine.
However it also says masks onboard may be required, no! Covid insurance required - erm no..its the UK. And no ports....
No thanks.

As the title says.. why is NCL online check in such a pain !!
It really is .. it doesn't like my address. It doesn't like my phone number. It doesn't like my flight details.. in fact i took those off eventually in sheer frustration ( and i think they only want them to upsell me a transfer anyway ! )
It never used to be this way when we showed up at the pier with our passports - this is not progress !!!!
