As a lurker I have learned so much on this site before I booked my first cruise with my husband over the Christmas hollidays on the Navigator. The cruise was outstanding except for one thing way too many kids now my husband is telling me no more cruises. It's not that we do not like kids just not that many on our vacation. I really want to take another cruise but my husband refuses unless I can find one with far fewer or no kids and he also wants more late night dancing and partying. Are there any RCCL cruises that are more adult oriented?

 

I have heard Carnival is more of a party atmosphere so I plan on posting there also. Does anybody know if that is accurate?

 

Thanks for any help so hopefully I can get my husband back on a cruise with an experience he will enjoy more and I can go on a cruise again.

Tell your husband he would rather have children on board instead of the Quinceanera girls from Argentina who travel in packs and are extremely rude. They push their way in in front of everyone.

It is done everyday, no problems. A lot of people carry food out to eat on the pool deck.

Have to agree with you on your opinions. The food quality was not up to RCCL standards. Our room attendant Elvin ( 3146) was great. We took our granddaughters on their first cruise. He provided towel animals that our granddaughters ( 5&8 years old) were excited and looked forward to returning to the cabin each night to see what was there. We also used the Adventure Ocean program which we were impressed with. The girls loved it, and we were extremly impressed with the security methods in place for the children left there. As far as the 300 plus teenage girls from Argentina, that was a nightmare. They moved in swarms like bees and totally overloaded any areas the went to. In the Windjamer the acted like the had never eaten before. They commanderd a large qty of the tables and stayed around long after they finished eating, preventing other guests from finding a place to sit and eat.

Found the Youtube video of the fireworks on the Freedom of the Seas. Looks incredible and must have been so cool to see in person. I have no idea how they got approval though because it looks like the classic fire hazard fireworks and they even had land fireworks which are a huge fire hazard. When Disney did them they had to prove they had to battle to overcome 2 things; the fact that fireworks are a fire hazard and the fact that other ships may think it's a distress call.

 

The captain of the FOS notified the surrounding ships about our fireworks display so they could inform their passengers allowing them to watch from their ships. As far as a fire hazard you are correct, but the crew of the FOS were out in force with a large contingent of firefighting equiptment.

No fireworks shows on any RCI ship. Wasn't even aware that they did one in the past. Was it a video of the Carnival Freedom?

The fireworks display was provided and paid for by the organizers of the High Seas Rally. The rally was attended by members of the motorcycle community. Also attending we're guests who require kidney dialysis. The expenses for these people were paid for by the donations of all the bikers that were on the cruise.

Cool stuff to know thanks! I am torn between the Citizen quarts movement and the Tissot Manual movement. Choices choices!

Don't know much about the Tissot movement. I have 5 Citizen Eco Drive watchs, with 2 of them being the RF models linked to the atomic clock and they are work and look great . A lot depends on your wallet. Just look at both makes and get the one that appeals to you. I would say that you cannot go wrong with either make. Good Luck

I have bought a total of 4 Citizen's Brand Eco Drive watchs while on a cruise. Three on board the ship and one in St Martins. All were factory and had all the paper work. The only problem I had and I still don't know if it was just coincidental, was the year I bought it on St. Martin's. When I got home I was notified by VISA that my card had been compromised and that they caught it. My card was cancelled and a new one issued. Since that time I have been gunshy about using my card ashore, and decided to stick with the ships store, or use cash if I want to buy something big while in port. As far as concern for the quality of Citizen's they are a great value for the price and have a fantastic selection. I am always getting compliments on their looks whenever I wear them. Cruising again on the Jewell Dec 8th and might look for another one.

Always trying to watch our bread intake. But in the MDR they have these yummy Savory Bites. Small rolls which vary from day to day, about the size of a ping pong ball. So you can watch your calories while enjoying your dinner rolls. Well thats if you can only eat 1!!!!!

These are my downfall also. I always eat too many.
