  1. we stayed at the Ambascattori in Mestre.. well we actually didn't as when we were booking in we were moved to the delfino next door. Room clean but very tiny ! Not much around but easy access to Venice by the bus stop across the road.. the delphino seems to be used as a transit hotel but annoyed we were shifted without prior notice.

  2. One of my dermatologist years ago recommended Vanicream and I use it and haven't burned in years.

I think if you find something that works you stick to it. we get very little high UV here in manchester so as soon as we go in the sun we either wrinkle like a prune or resemble a strawberry !!! to me a hat is essential and I reapply my sunscreen on a very regular basis. Too many brits see the sun, strip off and then suffer after. I find Aloe Vera a great help as it rehydrates and softens my skin. I also avoid alcohol in the sun as it seems to affect my natural histamines as well as giving me a sore head lol !!!

  3. Hi Helen

We go on the star in just short of four weeks. If you but a package like we have that is three nights in speciality you van go to explore and plan on your myncl page and pick the dates and times and when you got to my trolley it comes up at $0 for the three. I struggled to work it out to be honest !! but i now have it all confirmed.

    Enjoy your cruise !!

  4. Sun screen typically gives me a horrible rash, so I use a long sleeve rash guard with spf instead. I can swim in it and not worry about slathering on sun screen.

I have found if it says Aqua first it generally irritates my skin. I also find as having a coconut allergy I have to look very carefully at the ingredients. but the sun care central that is sold in spain and the canary islands has never caused me an issue. Its about 30+ uk pounds for a quite small bottle but to me it is worth it !

  5. We as being from Manchester in the UK are rarely exposed to sun and being somebody who is very pale and and blonde I have to be very careful as I get sun stroke very easily and also I am prone to prickly heat. I discovered sun care central products which I believe are FL based and I have never looked back. With having pscorissis as well for the creams not to irritate is great and I can get a slight deep magnolia shade !! The creams they sell in the UK are not very good but anything is better than nothing !!

  6. We have booked a guarantee balcony on the Star on the 18th of June. We only booked on Sunday. When do you normally get your allocated cabin number?

In the MDR with the All inclusive do you just get the house wine by the glass ?

Is the main pool heated ?

I've asked that we don't have feather pillows/duvets etc as I am allergic has anyone else requested hollow fibre ?

    TIA

  7. Hi im here in the UK watching Murder she wrote. Just wondering if any one knows what ship the episode was filmed on. Its the episode was "my johnny lies over the ocean " sorry for the daft question but interested.

  8. Sorry to ask but I know a lot of people are anti smoking but do they sell them on ventura or do I need to either buy duty free or get some in Barbados ? Also is sun cream more or less expensive in the caribbean or should I order some off suncare central as usual ! Also can you take a bottle of lemonade on board as a mixer ? Sorry I'm an accountant, northern and therefore a tight wad !! X

  9. My friend works for a TA and they reckon 6 weeks before as that's when people cancel ! The only problem can be the flights that may be booked which we fell down on in nov 2012 to Barbados. Could get the cabin but not the flight from Manchester. Booked ours at 60 days but a few days after the flight was full so I think it's the luck of the draw !!

  10. We were on Ventura last June in the med, but we never bothered with the Internet. We are on it again, February in Caribbean. This time our Daughter is expecting twins, her due date being shortly after our cruise. So my wife wants to stay in touch, without breaking the bank if possible. We all have iPods and iPhones so face time would be ideal.

So a few questions. Is it slow all the time or just when at sea? Is there free internet in public areas to e-mail? (Didn't check it out last time). Is there free wifi at port cruise terminals? If so can you connect from ship when in port?

weve allegedly got 150 mins through our travel agent plus some wine for our trip one month today ! We will wait and see !!
