Well here's hoping we get upgraded.  The other issue we're trying to deal with is we are sailing with another couple.  They have their own room.  If we win the RoyalUP to the Villa Suite we'd like to transfer their booking to our new room and get a refund of the JS fare.  Reservations and C&A both said we'd have to cancel and rebook which would really not make sense since we'd forfeit 100% of their fare.

Would the Genie be able to make booking changes?  Or are they just in charge of stuff on board?

Unfortunately that wouldn’t be possible to combine rooms. You’ll be subject to any penalties for the cancelled room.

If the bid is accepted it is non-refundable so I would be careful of bidding if you were banking on splitting the cost.

Genies are more subject to things they can do for you on board.

I'm a Platinum member, what the heck is "Sky Class"?  I thought the highest class was "Pinnacle"?

Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Pinnacle etc are ranks of the loyalty program. Sea (junior suites), Sky, and Star Class are the different categories of the suite rooms.

    Evening all,

As per title, we have been successful with Royal Up, we have gone from JS1 to a Sky Loft Suite on Quantum of the seas.  4 nights out of Singapore.

So that’s our little gloat done, even with the JS it would have been our 1st suite, but now we’ll experience the full monte suite perks.  We already had the deluxe drinks package and the ultimate dining package booked.

So should we drop either package, what can we expect from being sky class?

Anything that’s a must, anything we need to do now before boarding the ship?

So excited, this is going to top what will be a magical trip in itself, as it’s also part of our honeymoon!

Thanks for any wisdom you can impart!

    Rob & Sarah

The benefits from Sky Class wouldn't completely replace your packages. The only drinks free would be in the Suite/ Concierge Lounge during happy hour. That's typically from 5:30-8:00 I believe?

For dining, you'd be able to dine at the Coastal Kitchen anytime vs the only at dinner subject to availability for the JS. Specialty dining would still not be included. I think you may be thinking of Star Class which includes unlimited dining and the beverage package.

Is it still opening on schedule for Jan. 31st?

Barring any weather issues, it should be open on Jan 31st. There's someone on a forum that's currently on a cruise that reserved an overwater cabana for the 31st. He's already been assigned which cabana and they are assuring him that they will be open.

Romina was full of surprises! She put 3 matching teddy bears in my kids’ bed one night. Before Castaway Cay, shovels, buckets and beach toys were left in our room. We have a very specific and off menu cocktail that we enjoy, wherever we were, she’d magically show up with one for my husband and I. For every meal we ate, she had chocolate milkshakes waiting for my kids. Every afternoon she had chocolates, candies and nuts as well as our usual cocktail waiting for us. I had once mentioned to her that I love shrimp fried rice so she had the head chef of the windjammer make it for me during a special balcony dinner, which included 8(!) lobsters, a seafood tower, and a bunch of other food and drinks.

From me watching her and the other genies, I feel like she was really trying to prove herself and was going above and beyond what typical genies do. And her communicating via Facebook messenger made everything so simple and easy. I also wanted Derick originally and I’m sure he’s also good, but I would specifically request Romina if I sail again. She’s a treasure. Hope you guys have a great time!

Thank you soooo much for the response!!! This makes me super happy to hear!

@Trivia Trickster It was so great meeting you and your adorable kids! We all keep thinking about what we were doing this time last week...according to my clock right now, it definitely included a cocktail and lots of food! We thought Romina was fabulous. Hopefully we will find each other cruising RCCL again!!

We were hoping for Derick and got Romina. This is the only post I can find that had Romina and thought she was great! All of the other posts are that she's new and they have her for a future sailing so no solid reviews of her yet. Can I ask if she did surprises or thoughtful gifts or did things that you didn't ask for? Or is she like Yen who does exactly what is asked of her, does a fantastic job but doesn't do anything you don't ask for?

We were hoping for genie who surprises us with ideas and thinks of things to make our small kids happy.

  8. I put myself on the waitlist for 5:30 and signed up for the 8:00 and hoped for the best. When I was able to log into my reservation later I saw it showed a 5:30 dining time so it could happen.

I've also read that you could try to go to the main dining room and wait as a stand by as there are no shows for tables. They could of chosen to eat at a specialty restaurant instead, etc. so slots/ tables could free up.
