Thanks for sharing the Dawn Dailies. Helpful info. for our cruise in April!;)
Nice of you to post these!:)
Just to point out that these are over a year old.

No, you do not.

They're the same thing. Online and in marketing they call it the Ultimate Beverage Package. . .but on documents and confirmations they call it the Adult Beverage Package. It's too bad they cannot be consistent and eliminate confusion.

Thank you for one of the funniest threads I have ever read in ten+ years on here!!!!
-
Seriously, yet another thread on this topic! I guess it won't ever die. Are people also as curious how their cruise fare, which they're forced to pay, is allocated to the captain, directors, et al?
-
If the cruise price had increased, would it be fair for you to have to pay the higher price? It's a business, prices change and anything they offer you after final payment is above and beyond anything they're required to do.

If you have a Bank of America NCL card you get double points on all NCL charges.

We're not quite there, but close...we have one deck above us. We're in 17104. My husband wanted something on Deck 18, but I convinced him that the sun decks above us might cause some noise. Then he ends up picking the cabin below the hot tub! We don't spend a ton of time on our balcony and I honestly can't really see how it will bother us, but I am curious to see if there are any complaints from cabins.
Hi Brookie - we're also booked in 17104 for the 11/28/2015 sailing. When is your cruise?

Our upsell was from a mini-suite to a 2 Bdr Haven for $1500. It was totally worth it, but we have not been able to go back. The extra expense carries on to future cruises. :)
Indeed "the extra expense carries on to future cruises". We got the Fairy call four cruises ago and once we got a taste of The Haven we have never been able to book otherwise. OP - consider wisely . . .LOL :D

I'm surprised that nobody has yet created a social media (FB) Del Rio "Fan" page. If somebody does, I'll join.

Just wait until McDonald's gets wind of this scheme: Now all drive-thru items are free, but there is a $10 per passenger window-charge for convenience/ delivery. BRILLIANT!

The percentage of seats available for pre-booking has always been limited to a small amount. If a restaurant is no-longer available for pre-booking, then it means that limit has been reached.

O'Sheehans: It took me almost all week to realize this was a pun.
What am I missing here, or are you meaning it's a reference to the {former} CEO, Kevin Sheehan? :)
-
There is already a roll-call set up for your sailing date.

All good information. Thank you!
I'm still hoping that, eventually, NCL will begin purchasing all of their Jewel alcohol in Texas, and this will become a non-issue. :)
LOL - I probably doubt you do, because the taxes and duties NCL pays would cause the prices at the bar to increase :-)

I figured the pay tour had a lot more too it than the free Platinum. Still $79 seems like a lot of money for a tour of the ship.
Just so you're aware, the pay tour comes with an 8x10 photo of you, enclosed in a leather (faux, perhaps) binder that lists the ship's itinerary. We didn't realize this until we were at the end of the tour/on the bridge and everyone else was being given their photos (which we had passed on posing for earlier in tour).
-
Are you speaking about the Platinum tour or the pay tour?
Ah - I was speaking of the pay tour.

On the Nov 15th sailing, we took the tour on the second sea day (Thursday). The tour guide told us it was offered twice daily on sea days. Watch your Daily, or inquire at the Shore Excursions desk.

Sailed the Jewel a couple of weeks ago. Here's what I know/experienced:
Our bottle of sparkling wine and two bottles of wine, sent as gifts from friends, were not delivered by the butler to the suite until the second day.
Mini bar fridge in suite was sealed until reaching international waters (a few hours after sail away).
Only certain liquors and beer/wine were available from the bars until reaching international waters. They only serve what they've paid Texas taxes on until reaching international waters . .afterwards, the whole bar is open.
Based on reading some other CC threads on this subject I understand that Texas, due to its border with Mexico, has charged taxes on liquor and cigarettes being brought into the US several years (via people traveling through automobiles). I read that in the past couple of years they have started collecting the taxes at cruise terminals as well. However, when we disembarked and passed through customs last month, an elderly lady was barely visible and "loosely" directing people towards the Texas duty table around the corner . . so enforcement seemed to be very lax - didn't see anyone declaring anything ;-)
As an aside, our cruise previous to this was a couple of years ago. In all of my past cruises I had found that the gift shops had really good prices on Absolut vodka towards the end of the cruise (2 for ~$20). This cruise the special was 2 for $36, barely a bargain if at all. . .and if I had bought any *and* paid the Texas taxes it would definitely not be a bargain vs. what I can get the same for in Dallas.

Since the Haven area on the Jewel no longer has a lobby/concierge desk, where is the concierge "stationed" and how do you interact with him/her?
My only previous experience was on the Epic and we saw the concierge every time we passed through the Haven lobby and could ask him questions then.
Thanks!!

According to the deck plans on NCL.com, this area is now the "Villas Private Lounge"

Personally, I wouldn't ever risk flying in on the day of. . .just too many uncertainties and stress. But that's just me - rather have the peace of mind getting there a day early, even though it might cost a little more.
