Hawaii hasn't shut down their borders yet. "Hawaii Lt. Gov. Josh Green and state Rep. Gene Ward are ASKING for a 60-day ship stoppage."
Good to know but it still worries me that they asked.
If they're granted the request, it makes it that much easier for Alaska to ask and be granted the same.

Have an Alaska cruise for May and right now don't plan on cancelling.
I am going to purchase trip cancellation insurance today for the cost of the flights and hotels though in the event Alaska decides to follow Hawaii and shut their ports to cruises or the White House shuts down cruises.

$25 CDN for upcoming 7 night in May.
This was advertised as 40% off and I haven't seen it cheaper yet.

Not sure when you reach Denali, but prior to June 1, you would be doing the SHOULDER SEASON TW tour:
https://www.reservedenali.com/tours-transits/the-denali-tour-experience/tundra-wilderness-tour/
Additionally due land slides at Pretty Rocks at Mile 43, Park Admin isn't sure when the park road will open and how far you will be able to travel. They aren't able to make a determination until the Spring road clearing starts and they are able to reach the area and see if the condition worsened over the winter. You may want to stay alert to the Denali web site for developments.

Thanks, I knew about the shoulder season tour. I thought the rock slide was further along but it still only cuts off about 10 miles of the shoulder season tour so it's not a killer.

I'm going in May for the first time and have the following booked:
Day 1
Bus transfer from Seward to ANC
Pick up rental car at ANC, explore Anchorage a bit, grab some food, and drive to Denali (staying at McKinley Chalet Resort)
Day 2
Morning Tundra Wilderness Tour; some on for exploring/hiking in the afternoon
Day 3
Drive back to Anchorage, fly out at night

My wife and I are thinking about hiking either the Rainbird or the Ward Creek trail while we're in Ketchikan on our upcoming cruise.
How reliable are the taxi services there in terms of calling for one once we're done hiking? Is it usually a long wait or are they pretty quick to pick you up?

Welcome to CC.
Yes. Keep checking prices as even balconies may drop to the point of a feasible upgrade.
Thank you.
Any idea if RC would change my final price on my reservation to the new lower price or leave my original price there?
If I can potentially score an upgrade later, I'd prefer it be on the higher of two so I wouldn't have to pay as much.

I just did a mock booking for my upcoming Alaska cruise and noticed that with all the specials they have going right now, I can pick an oceanview stateroom and still come out lower by almost $200 than my current guaranteed oceanview room.
Would it be possible, or even worth it, to call and see if they'd let me pick a room? I don't expect to get any money or credit back since it's after final payment.

Would appreciate news on what they are doing with the cruises that are scheduled to leave Canada during the port closure instead of a "thanks for sticking with us" form email.
