  1. Hi all:

DW and I will be hitting one of those milestone Diamond levels on our next cruise. We are currently booked on a 7 night cruise on Freedom OTS in July but may have a chance to do a 3 or 4 nighter on one of the small ships before that.

My question is whether the milestone gift (in our case its the 140 cruise credit) is the same across the fleet or varies by ship? A secondary question is whether the gift on Freedom would really be that much better than the one on a smaller ship.

    Thanks

  2. Does the FOS have anything similar to the Wave phones that they use on DCL? I bellieve I saw that the Allure/Oasis has something similar but not sure about FOS.

    Thanks!

Not like Oasis/Allure. I asked Adam Goldstein about it on his "Ask Adam" blog and he said they are looking at rolling them out fleet wide but there is no timetable.

  3. We laughed and said next time we'll do individual massages though.... the room was so tiny that the two gals kept bumping into each other (or it sounded like it! lol) and they were squeezing between the two tables..... plus I was just waiting for DH to start snoring....

But definitely a massage is a must do for us now (either alone or together)!

For me, the massages are way overpriced....just get a massage envy membership...it's cheaper and you can get one every month. On Freedom, I'll go for the hot shave with a nice arm/hand massage....tell your husband. He won't have to shave for like 3 days hehe

  4. Does anyone have info about the spa onboard? We just did a wonderful couples massage on the Disney Magic and have now added this to our "must do" on any cruise.....

    Thank you!

I am pretty confident that all spas have a couples massage. I think Voyager and Freedom Class ships (not sure though) may also offer the couples mud treatment where you get a room, lots of mud and a shower for just the two of you.

  5. For W. Caribbean: Does anyone know if/when we change time zones on the ship? I know that in Grand Cayman we don't change times (even though technically we're in a different time zone) but what about Cozumel?

Actually, I've had it both ways...depends on the Captain. Rest assured they make announcements about whether to stay on ship's time. Most of the time it has been to stay on ship time.

  6. Another question.... All the talk about "Quest". What is it and does one do any planning to be able to see/play? When is it - we are on Feb 26 W. Carib cruise. Thanks JanO

Quest is a secret. It's sort of an unwritten rule not to give too much away so as to not ruin it. Suffice to say its a game that requires audience participation. If you've never seen it, you should go. It's usually late like 11 or so late in cruise.

  7. Quest was also this evening, at 11:45. We were just way too exhausted to even consider it though. I don’t know how everybody does it, we were literally about to drop once we got back to the room. While I am bummed that we missed Quest –AGAIN- at least on our next RCCL cruise we still have something “new” to look forward to. C’mon Royal throw us a bone and move Quest to a Sea Day, would ya???? Please?

Back in our staterooms, we had a cute little frog and the kids had a stingray!

Up Next: St. Maarten and Capt. Alan’s Wild Ride!

Enjoying the review....one thing about Quest. IMHO Quest on the larger (Voyager Class and above) are not nearly as good as it is on the smaller ships. On the bigger ships, there is not as much chance for audience interaction as when its in a smaller showroom. I won't give away any details but I highly recommend that you go to Quest on a smaller ship. DW and I have skipped it on every large ship we've gone on since our first experience with it in Studio B

  8. Up to page 19 :)

Why not just open the thread in a new browser window/tab and keep that one open to where you're at? Then, as you read the back posts, it will continue to update for you and you'll never lose your place. Then you won't have to post in the thread and make us think there is a new post.

  9. From everything I've heard, the decision on who is invited to eat with the Captain (or other senior officer) is at the discretion of the Captain. Some s/he chooses or the Head Waiter or the Hotel Manager. It really isn't anything set except they try to pick people who are entertaining and engaging and who they believe will bring diverse conversation to the table.

  10. I just checked the RCCL website and our cabin's been assigned to a D2, #7534 on the Adventure. It's a little more forward on the ship than we're used to. Anyone know if we should expect more motion there? It's the southern Carib, March 18th cruise so hopefully we won't experience rough seas but maybe we should ask for a cabin more in the center or aft.

Not a bad deal though - we paid for outside cabins (no balcony), and were upgraded to a balcony gty, and now to a Superior D2 on deck 7.

If you can shed any light on the location of this cabin and what you think we'll have in the way of motion, please let me know. My husband can get motion sick if it's too rough.

Lucky you....I switched last week to a suite guarantee on the 3/4 sailing and haven't gotten my assignment yet.
