It's a 5nite and this post was April 25. Sales done, prices higher now..

No, the discount is still available just checked, says 3 days remaining. The problem now would be to find available staterooms. Think the suites are now on a guarantee or you have to call, not sure you can do it on line unless you opt for a guarantee suite. Something I would never do.

  2. :classic_rolleyes: First time ever, just repriced my trip with a significant $$$ decrease. Discount applies to seniors and military, actual cost depends on stateroom type: $375 inside, $510 balcony, $703 Jr Suite, $724 Grand Suite & $919 Owners Suite.  I would suggest doing a mock booking so you know the exact amount, then call for repricing.  Good Luck and hope the discount fairy sprinkles a little pixie dust for you too.:classic_rolleyes:

  3. On my countdown for our sailing and wanted to get a peek at a cruise compass for the 5 night sailing out of Jersey to try and schedule events and dinner.  Does anyone have them for a pass sailing they are willing to post?  I would not want to schedule a specialty restaurant on formal night.

  4. I’ve stayed at the Edgewater by Pier 66 (not Royal’s Pier) and the Hyatt House by the Space Needle. I can recommend both. Hyatt House for a family would be great and the Edgewater for a couple. Seattle hotels are pricey, but I’ve found booking early helps.

Thank you, gives me a starting point.

  5. These staterooms have a sofa bed, which Royal says will accommodate two adults, but I don't think two adults are comfortable in that sofa bed, I'd only put one adult in the sofa bed, which would make the stateroom comfortable for only three adults.

Yes I agree, thought they had family rooms like on the Symphony. If you view the stateroom via deck plans, it appears to be much larger than normal ocean views in the front of the ship. Hoping to see the actual room. Thank you for responding.

  6. I am looking to book a cruise on Anthem through the Next Cruise desk on my cruise next month on Freedom. It will be a balcony room. Does anyone have any advice on which decks to avoid or which ones you prefer? While looking at the deck maps there seems to be a bump out or overhand around deck 7. Not sure if that area is to be avoided or not. Thank you.

My experience is to always avoid decks when there are public areas above. Meaning always secure a deck with staterooms above and below you as it will decrease the noise associated with public areas. Not that it's the best, but I prefer high floors, normally the highest you can go and still have staterooms above, the higher the floor the less motion sickness (if you're prone to motion sickness).

  7. Heading out in 17 days on AOS. Arriving the day before at JFK and need to secure transportation to hotel in Times Square and then from Times Square to the port. Does anyone have experiences with a car service I can use? There will be 8 of us, 5 adults and 3 children. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not interested in taking the subway or taxi.

  8. Your travel agent worked that out for you? What kind of stateroom?

No, I just called to make final payment on my GS and the vacation planner said she would check to see if the price decreased and to my surprise it had. Never ever had a decrease at final payment before.

  9. We sail on the freedom March 18th and looked to take advantage of the next cruise booking options. But first I need some options! I'm not going to spend my cruise planning another cruise! I know we can pick a specific cruise later, but with our oldest turning 18 in August, if we don't find one we like as a family it may be awhile before we cruise again.

I am in the same situation as you, also on the March 18th cruise and need to book next cruise on board. Hopefully, everything will open while we're on the ship.

  10. we'll be in a cat T in october..

ok...so you still need to get onto the website at midnight...

i was SHOCKED at how quickly the cabanas flew and i'm on a half empty cruise (or it was half empty before they started giving it away free to floridians)..

i logged onto the DCL website at about 30 seconds after midnight (i waited a few seconds to be sure i wouldn't be locked out)..

i was going for serenity bay so that's what i looked at first...2 of the cabanas had already been booked at only 30 seconds after midnight....

and of the family cabanas, when i first logged on, 6 cabanas had already been booked - in only 30 seconds....talk about quick on the draw!!!!!!

so what i'm saying is, even though you're concierge, you have to be FAST at midnight....don't think you can wait until morning (for the concierge team to do it)...you can't...you have to do it yourself at midnight....

Good to know. This is exactly why I start research early. Now what is this about giving them away free to Floridians? Will really have a problem with that, because although we currently live out of state for work, we are residents of Florida as well. Either way, if free simply being a Florida resident should not be only criteria. Just my two cents.

  11. are you going on the Dream or the Fantasy?

i see that you're going to be cruising on the Oasis of the Seas in august 2013 - so you're doing two cruises? one on RCCL and one on DCL?

if you're sailing on the Dream, the restaurant that doubles is where you'll have pirate night - so it doesn't matter which restaurant you're in, they all have the same menu that night and if you're in animators, there is no crush show that night.

as for booking a cabana in August - it's highly unlikely you'll get one unless you're either sailing concierge or you're a platinum level frequent cruiser.

those two categories get to book 120 days before the cruise.

Yes, we're doing back to back. Oasis first, 4 day Disney Dream followed by 4 days at Disney World Resort. We're booked Cat T, so should be able to grab one of the cabanas.

We've sailed both Wonder and Magic so Pirates Night is not a big deal for us, so we'll probably dine at Palo's that night. If Crush appeared both nights we would go for the younger members of our party.
