I have to correct my previous statement. Only got port fees back on a June cruise and my deposit back on a cruise this December. My math was off. The way the credits come as multiple amounts does not help. I am like many others now waiting for more $ to be credited.

Coaster, I agree very confusing. Took me awhile to figure out they had credited port fees and gratuities separately. RCI has not done anything to make me want to cruise with them again that’s for sure. Stay safe.

OK!!! I got my money back. I got an email today from Amex notifying me of the credits.Thank you Royal! I should not of questioned the delay as we have loved cruising with you since giving up on NCL. I like to give credit where it is due. Royal made my day today!

I have two out of three cabins back. Cruise cancelled March 13, first rebate March 19, second April 1 still waiting on the third.

Lots of people in this situation. I have to pay my card $13000. What concerns me is I got a refund for my cabin in 6 days but haven’t got the refund for my kids cabins. As of today it’s 3 weeks. It is impossible to understand staff on the phone as they are working on VOIP phones at home in India. This week RCI drew down the last of its credit. I am waiting Until Monday, which is 15 business days from cancellation and then doing a chargeback.

As for comments for being better prepared for changes, who the hell plans for a pandemic? The plan would have to be stay at home forever and do nothing.

As a follow up just received a bunch of credits. From the looks of them not everything and some amounts look like I will have an issue reconciling them but at least it’s positive news.

Me. It’s not much different than preparing for a job loss, or an unexpected illness 🤷‍♂️

Difference is if you cancel it’s only you and a few others the cruise line is dealing with. Here they are dealing with everyone. IMO they are being shortsighted. I don’t think there will be a big bounce back in business. First of all everybody will have lost money in the markets and from job losses. Secondly seniors will remember those trapped on ships with the virus. We wanted to make it easy by just rebooking for next year but they tried to stick us with a 33% increase and now we are left hanging for a refund. Talk about pi$$ing off your customers.

  6. Cancelled my cruise on March 13. I had booked three cabins with drinks and dining packages. I immediately received an email re the dining packages but not the drinks. I had asked to speak to a supervisor as they were claiming they would retain a cancellation charge on each booking.

On March 19 I got the following refunds, the cruise for my cabin, my drinks package, the dining package for all cabins and the cancellation charge on all cabins.

i have made several phone calls and the annoying thing is you get put through to Indians working from home on VOIP phones that are so bad you cannot understand them. One even told me they couldn’t access the account as it wasn’t my name. They also did not recognize the reference numbers given for the cancellation.

There is no doubt I can go the credit card route as the service has not been provided.

We had actually tried to just change our dates to 2021 with the same ship, cabins and timeframe but they wanted 33% more despite oil having collapsed in price.

i think the end result is that the cruise lines will rue this and have an extremely difficult time bouncing back. It has certainly turned us into non cruisers. I will go somewhere where my business is appreciated.
