  1. Hello sloopjohnb,
Thank you kindly for your question. We assist disembarking guests with necessary testing. For our upcoming Sliver Moon voyages, for example, Silversea will provide a complimentary COVID-19 rapid antigen test for all disembarking guests and other PCR tests can be pre-arranged through a third-party provider for a nominal fee. I invite you to reach out to your travel agent or Silversea representative to make your arrangements in advance - we would be happy to help. We hope to see you on board soon!

  2. Dear jmalux,

Indeed, the conflict in Israel is an unfortunate situation all around. We reacted as nimbly as possible to adapt to the circumstances, and I apologize for the problems these changes caused to your excursion planner. By now, the situation should have stabilized in MySilversea, but if you encounter any additional problems, please feel free to reach out to your travel agent or Silversea representative for direct assistance so you may enjoy the shore excursions of your choosing in each port. We look forward to welcoming you onboard Silver Moon!

  3. Hi LaBellaDonna, Thanks for your question. All booked guests on Silver Origin voyages will soon receive a comprehensive overview of pre-cruise information, which will include information on PCR tests and vaccinations. Our team has worked closely with a local lab (Veris Lab) to provide testing at the hotel in Quito for travellers who are not in possesion of a negative PCR test result issued within 96 hours of arriving in San Cristobal. Travellers will be required to pay a nominal fee for this service and results are expected to be provided the following day. I invite you to contact your travel agent or Silversea representative with any additional questions you may have. We would be happy to assist you. We look forward to welcoming you on Silver Origin!

  5. Hello Reef Knot,

Thank you very much for your question. We're always looking for innovative ways to collaborate with our sister brands and we continue to take steps to incorporate Silversea into the RCL family. While we currently don't have an update regarding onboard credit benefits for RCL shareholders, we will be sure to communicate any decisions to all shareholders directly, as the discussions progress.

  6. Dear Ekka,
Our guests residing in Queensland are very important to Silversea, and we thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that we don’t have a large selection of cruises originating from Brisbane. We use Cairns as a port of call/turnaround port for our cruises between Australia and the Far East due to its ideal location for this purpose. As the market continuously evolves, so too will our itineraries to better reflect our guests’ expectations and tastes. We value Brisbane as an attractive destination and we hope to include the city in our future itineraries. For now, Queenslanders enjoy sailing with Silversea from other ports and we offer complimentary flights with business class upgrade included to make it hassle-free. We hope to see you on board soon!

  7. Hi AussieItchyFeet, Many thanks for your questions. As I’m sure you will appreciate, the situation is continuously evolving – as are our onboard health and safety protocols. While our procedures are likely to change by January 2022, I am happy to share an overview of our current protocols that relate to your questions:

    1. Currently, all guests on ships returning to service will be served at their tables for breakfast and lunch buffets. Our waiting staff will attentively serve you for each course, yet the full buffet options will still be available.

    2. Once on board, our crew will undergo antigen testing every seven days, as well as full PCR testing every month.

    3. All suites will now be fogged with water-based disinfectant solutions that do not aggravate the materials onto which they are sprayed. Moreover, suites are cleaned and sanitized even more thoroughly than before, and for longer. To give you an idea, the cleaning of the suite will take more than twice as long with our enhanced procedures in place.

    4. Guests who experience symptoms for COVID-19 are required to immediately contact the nearest member of staff. To effectively handle this type of situation, we have developed a comprehensive, science-backed plan with the health and safety of all guests and crew as the top priority. Our crew will be trained on these procedures and will not hesitate to act quickly.

We look forward to welcoming you on board!

  8. Hi Jo, Thanks so much for submitting your questions. We look forward to welcoming you aboard Silver Wind during her inaugural season in Antarctica! With the situation evolving so rapidly, it's really difficult to confirm our health protocols for December. Our top priority is always to safeguard the health and safety of our guests, and so this will also be the case for guests embarking Silver Wind in December. We will remain in constant communication with booked guests to ensure they have all the relevant information they need prior to the voyage. Regarding the hotel arrangements, rest assured that everything will be taken care of by Silversea. In this regard, we don't anticipate major disruptions. We look forward to seeing you on the Wind!

  9. Dear cool cruiser,

Thank you very much for your question. I'm very happy to see that the Machu Picchu pre/post excursion is of interest to you. It's truly a breathtaking experience that perfectly complements the exciting destination that is Galapagos. At the moment, we are closely monitoring the situation in Peru as the country unfortunately continues to struggle with COVID-19. But rest assured that our goal is to bring back this option as soon as it is safe to do so.

  10. Dear PaulMCO,

Thank you very much for your question. I'm glad to see this topic has generated quite a bit of interest! I appreciate your feedback and your experience sailing on Silver Explorer. She's still a tried-and-true member of our expedition fleet and definitely holds a very special place in the hearts of our expedition staff as well as dear guests like you. As pointed out on some of the replies in this topic, our brand new, destination-specific Silver Origin is set to debut in Galapagos in just a few weeks. And we have very exciting plans for the future to continue building on this approach for new ships. Stay tuned for more updates to come!

Barbara, Connoisseurs Corner looks beautiful.....my husband who enjoys a fine cigar will be so happy.  He enjoyed the one on the Muse last December, but this new outdoor area is a step up. We were booked on the Dawn’s original inaugural Rome to Venice with a few other couples so we are still mourning that cancellation.  Hopefully, we will catch up with her sometime in 2022.

    Dear cece50,
Thank you very much for your kind words. I can't help but agree! The new outdoor area truly enhances the experience and brings a new dimension to our beloved Connoisseur's Corner. We hope to see you very soon on Silver Dawn. She's on her way!

  12. Hi there, thanks so much for your question. As of now, all published itineraries for Silver Dawn will operate as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation closely, with the health and safety of our guests as our priority, and we will not hesitate to amend our itineraries if required to do so. If we are forced to change our itineraries, all guests will be notified in the first instance and will be offered alternative options, from Future Cruise Credits to a full refund. We can't wait to welcome you aboard our beautiful new ship!

  13. Dear bl2sms

Thank you very much for the question. We look forward to welcoming you aboard Silver Shadow in October! Due to the spaciousness of our ships, and the fact that we carry fewer guests, we are at a slight advantage when it comes to physical distancing. We are still evaluating the capacity at which our ships will operate and the situation may still evolve before October. We will continue to monitor the most up-to-date recommendations from the CDC and the Healthy Sail Panel, and will update our protocol accordingly. Rest assured, our science-backed health protocols include physical distancing and face coverings in all indoor public spaces for guests' health and safety, yet the social aspect of cruising will remain - this is an important part of the Silversea experience. Guests will still be able to dine together and enjoy a cocktail in the bar, interacting and making new friends.

    Barbara

  14. Hello Boccenana,

I certainly hope that, by the end of October, the situation will improve dramatically. For the safety of all our guests and crew members, we will continue to follow the recommendations of the Royal Caribbean Group's Healthy Sail Panel, the CDC, and other medical institutions and governing bodies, constantly revising and updating our policy as new information becomes available. .

    Barbara

  15. Hi Boccenana,

For the time being, all embarking guests and crew are required to wear face coverings when in indoor public areas, cruise terminals, and on shore excursions for guests' health and safety. Of course, guests are not expected to wear face coverings when enjoying meals in the restaurants or drinks in the bars, which means that the social aspect of cruising will be as enjoyable as ever! We will remain in communication with the Royal Caribbean Group's Healthy Sail Panel, the CDC, and other medical institutions and governing bodies to ensure we are best safeguarding our guests.
Hope to see you on board soon!

  16. Hi cruiseej!
Thank you very much for your questions. I'm so glad to hear you're booked on Silver Wind this December! We're very excited about the ship's refurbishment and having her join our expedition fleet. I can confirm that the refurbishment is on schedule and we will release details in due course. Rest assured, she will be completed in time for the start of this year's Antarctica season.

Regarding Puerto Williams, we have no plans to change Silver Wind's departure port for Antarctica voyages for now (but we are monitoring the situation in South America very closely)- At the moment only Silver Explorer is expected to depart from Puerto Williams, excluding Antarctica Bridge sailings. We have arranged for private flights with extra legroom and an additional baggage allowance for Silversea guests to arrive in Puerto Williams, where we will embark Silver Explorer. You can find more information in this recent press announcement: https://www.silversea.com/about-silversea/press-releases/2021/april/silversea-cruises-puerto-wiliams-as-new-as-new-departure-port-for-selected-antarctica-expeditions.html

Lastly, we don't know yet whether Silver Wind will sail at full or reduced capacity as the situation is constantly evolving, but rest assured all of our science-backed protocols are designed to safeguard the health and safety of our guests and crew.

  17. Dear RichT1
Thank you very much for your question. I am delighted to hear that you are interested in our British Isles voyage on board Silver Spirit. It's quite a lovely itinerary! Hopefully, by September we may not need verified shore excursions, but we will of course abide by the regulations outlined by the UK authorities. If indeed we need to offer verified shore excursions on this future voyage, they will be included in the fare.

    Barbara

  18. Hi Perfectionistcruiser,

Thanks for your question on Silver Dawn - I'm delighted that you're interested in her sailing from Peru to Fort Lauderdale. Our beautiful Silver Dawn floated out in January of this year and the ship is on track to be delivered in November 2021. All scheduled voyages are expected to go ahead as planned. If, for any reason, we are required to change her itineraries, we will communicate this to guests in good time. I hope you share my excitement for this beauty to join our fleet!

For a recap, here are the roll-out dates for our classic fleet:

  20. Dear commodoredave, thanks for the question.

Rest assured, your comfort is of utmost importance to us and we understand that quarantining before a cruise is simply not an option. Our hope is that this measure will change as the fluid situation evolves, but if not, guests can take advantage of our flexible booking terms to reschedule their sailing. We continue to work closely with governments and health authorities around the world, including those in the UK, to determine the feasibility of operating each of our scheduled voyages. We are cancelling voyages on a rolling basis, meaning we are only cancelling voyages once we are certain that they cannot operate. This gives us the best possible chance of operating each voyage. Of course, we remain in constant contact with all booked guests and we will be sure to let them know in the first instance if their itinerary is amended or cancelled.
