  1. Thanks Willow that is very kind of you to do some digging for me. Seems they may be slowing changing their minds about us solos. Either that or they're willing to have us to fill otherwise empty cabins. Either way, still better than last year. They had empty cabins out of Dubai on the Lirica just 4-5 weeks out and still would not sell at solo occupancy. Costa were happy to take my money though.

  4. The final consideration is MSC Club points. You gain one point for each night onboard but you also gain a point for each multiple of 200 USD or Euros spent onboard. The daily hotel charge (automatic tipping) and any post-paid drinks packages count towards this. Pre-paid packages obviously do not count. The biggest benefit of the MSC Club are discounts, 5-20%, off all future cruises.

I must agree with Tim I have for the last couple of cruises put all my family on one booking and all the expenditure on my credit card, I nearly reached Black last time but failed by 5 night or €1000

    David

  5. Hi Ivi,

You may have a very good point. However, this is the only Fantasia class ship repositioning next Spring and therefore I thought I would seek to maximise my chances of getting a last minute deal by choosing the biggest ship with the least accessible start and end ports :). I realise that booking flights for a repo cruise without actually booking the cruise is a little unconventional. It is a bet. Wish me luck!

    Tim.

Anyone interested in Preziosa there is a thread at

  6. MSC UK is now offering special "£35 per night" repo fares. In the previous couple of years they were £25/£35/£45 for inside/outside/balcony respectively. The current UK promotion is £35/£40/£45 respectively. So the balcony fare has not risen except that there is now a solo occupancy supplement of 50% across the board. Before it was zero on repo cruises.

I will have to wait. I have paid deposits with free o.b.c with two other cruise lines....We shall see.

That's more like it we go for a double occupancy balcony cabin so now looking to see where cheapest air fairs are to use my Avios, Thanks Tim

    David

ps how long do you think this promotion will last

  7. I receive emails for four MSC Club members and have had nothing from MSC since before Christmas. I am pleased to be kept informed via CC. Please keep up the good work!

€3859 including things I don't want is a non starter to me. I hope the attractiveness of the UK offer improves upon that. There are plenty of other fish in the sea....

  10. Agreed in regards to less pollies, as for the servicemen, if there are any left that want to and can go, they do go for free. I am in the ballot but am not hopeful, it doesn't represent a right of passage for me just a chance to see first hand what took place and to pay my respects but for all the battles not just Gallipoli. We have been to many memorials and cemeteries across south east asia and have paid our respects at these as well.

I hope all that require and deserve are successful

    Kind regard

  11. Same thing here in North America. MSC's booking policy is stupid.

I booked a cruise on the Musica for 8th November 2014. I also want to book for 15th November and 17th November 2014. These 2 cruises are not open for booking in North America but people can book them elsewhere which means that people can book my cabin. I spoke with MSC USA and there is nothing they can or won't do about it. I told them that I want the same cabin for the 3 cruises otherwise I will cancel. I am not interested in changing cabins twice during a cruise.

I asked them to give me the email address for the main office in Italy but I haven't received anything yet...

Nice way to treat an almost black card member.
