  1. Thank you for the above information. It is much appreciated!
Sincerely hope that the five day PCR test window stays the same. This timeframe makes it much more realistic to apply for Authorization Form acceptance.

We are flying Jet Blue which requires a 3 day Covid test for international travel, so we will be taking the test twice.

Looking forward to casually sipping on a couple of martinis in the Explorer’s Lounge when this is all behind us!

I don't have any facts but what went through my mind was what better way to see if/how this is going to work than to try it on the lab rats on the June 15 Bermuda cruise? I was surprised to see it on MVJ because our countdown clock had us checking in on the second day of the cruise, if I was counting days, correctly.

This “lab rat” is all checked in...very smooth process.

I am a stressed teacher and will be traveling solo and hope to do the Aug 3 cruise. The flight times are crazy. I live in Philly so not that far from Bermuda. Some of the flights have 10 hour layovers.  Would Viking air be a good idea   Do they have an in for better flights? The flight availability certainly has changed in the last year. Friends and I were able to get  direct flights to Spain and direct return home from Venice. I hope to meet some new friends on the cruise but also r and r after my most stressful teaching year in 30 plus years. Thanks  G

I would suggest going to JFK the night before and then take nonstop Jet Blue to Bermuda the next day.

Since there seems to be plenty if cabins available on the 6/15 cruise, DW and I are discussing canceling the cruise outside the 14 day window, but flying to Bermuda, as we have a hotel booked for the first three nights of our trip.  Then, if we successfully get to our hotel, and pass the arrival screening test, we will call Viking from Bermuda to see if any nice cabins are available.  If there are none, we will spend the 10 day trip at luxury beachfront hotels, dining at myriad fine restaurants.  And doing whatever the hell we want during the day, rather than being trapped on a ship and being herded into very limited and boring bubble excursions.

We will be extremely happy to be “trapped” on a luxury ship where we  we will be pampered and waited on all week.

  5. Hi neighbor! We live in Plymouth. So glad that Jet Blue offers a nonstop from Boston. Delta did in the past but dropped the route. Flight is only a couple of hours so hope to be on the ship  shortly after arrival. Right in time for lunch at the World Cafe.

I am very relieved that Viking is handling all arrangements including  pre/ post testing and Authorization Forms.Timeframe was not possible with testing.
Viking’s concern is that passengers are all fully vaccinated.

Hope to meet you on board!

  6. I am on the June 15th cruise....
supervisor stressed that Viking would be responsible for all testing for its passengers and handle entry regulations into Bermuda. We do not even need a Covid test at the airport upon arrival from Bermuda officials.

Mandatory Health survey will be posted on My Viking Journey 8 days before sailing.

This finally makes the most sense.
just wish it was posted previously to avoid all this anxiety.

    Need an Ativan refill!
Both Bermuda and Viking want operations to start up and revenue flowing for all parties concerned.

As it does not pertain to me, do not know about those coming into Bermuda early other than sailing day.

  7. Just got off the phone with a Viking supervisor.

Booked  our shore excursions on My Viking Journey and saw that there will be a mandatory health survey to be completed 8 days prior to cruising .

Hence my call. I explained that it is impossible to get a PCR test and an Authorization Form in our timeframe.

Super stated to ignore the Bermuda government site or any other site other than Viking.

Viking made a stipulation with Bermuda to bypass arrival testing and obtaining Authorization Form. This is granted since we are all vaccinated already.

Daily testing will be done on the ship.

This information will be posted under the Health category in My Viking Journey.

So all we are responsible for is get a rapid test if your airline requires it for international travel.

Super  also said that this information was just given to them this morning and Viking

wants to insure safe entry for all its passengers.

    Hope this helps!

  8. Timeline still does not work if Bermuda insists on full PCR test:

    Test on Saturday

Results can take up to 48 hours or more( this is over a weekend and lab may not be open)

48 hours brings us to Monday

    Monday apply for Authorization Form

Form takes 24 hours for approval

    Tuesday morning is departure

The only way I can see this work is if Bermuda accepted a rapid test or if Viking bypassed Authorization Forms  for us working in tandem with Tourist Bureau.

As I mentioned previously , we go from airport to ship. We all are fully vaccinated.
That was the reason we booked this cruise.

Too many “ifs” in this mix and no solid direction from Viking.Unsure if they even know that this  timeframe is not doable.
