  1. I never thought in a million years that I'd have to write an email like this to Viking Cruises. We've had nothing but first class service and experiences with them on our 3 cruises with Viking. However, the runaround they gave my travel agent  is ridiculous and unprofessional.

We canceled a cruise that was going to depart from Norway in August of 2021 because we were  99.99% sure that the cruise would be cancelled (and in fact it was) due to Covid. At the same time we saw that Viking had opened a new cruise in Iceland. Viking agreed to put the money we paid for the original cruise towards the Iceland cruise, and we had a credit of ~$4400 as the Iceland cruise was significantly less expensive than the original one. We were never told we had to use all of this credit on the Iceland cruise, and in fact, were told any balance would be good to put towards a future cruise up to May 2023. If we would have been told that we would have to forfeit any of the $4400 that was not used up on the Iceland trip we would have never booked this cruise. There is no way we could have spent all of that extra money on the Iceland cruise. There were no cabin upgrades available, as the cruise sold out within 24-48 hours, and we got one of the last cabins. We spent some of the extra $4400 on paid excursions, upgraded drink package, pre-paid tips, etc., but there's only so much you can spend if there are no cabin upgrades available. Now we're being told that the ~3200 of our money (I'm not sure why it's called a voucher as it is money we paid to Viking) is gone? That's something I would expect from a second rate operation, not Viking. Unbelievable!
