It is the Marella Explorer and we fly in to Tenerife South and board same day (package with Marella/TUI).  I believe the same cruise that you are on, we pick it up on the 14th.

I agree and feel your pain.  This will be my first Marella cruise.  We are party of 9 and this is for my parents Golden Anniversary.  Group bookings can be problematic, but I have never known such confusion, terrible web-links and separate portals and difficulty in finding info or reaching a representative for advise.

We booked via travel agent who are in the dark about the changes.  Marella TUI refuse to speak to us directly and keep deferring back to agent.  We have all just ordered Klarity tests to completed for the return flight/return to UK.  By the time we get home, we will be like lab rats!!! :-0

If it was just me an hubbie on this cruise, we would have been beaten and postponed by now, but I have to remain positive for sake of the group and my parents celebration.

I appreciate these tests need to be paid for by someone and like you have done 2 cruises this year where tests are included.  If Marella sent a coherent communication and explanation it would help - I wonder how may folks might turn up with no test or wrong test!

Just trying to remain positive and hope we actually get onboard!

We are also getting on this ship on 14th dec,now ordered all our tests, hopefully there will be no more adjustments before next week, got enough to remember, just hope it all goes smooth, flying from Stan stead.hoping the plane maybe half empty with all these people cancelling or changing holidays

I have been looking at a fly cruise to the canaries in December, looking at TUI website it states we have to do a lateral flow test after 9pm the night before the flight, I think this is instead of the one we did at the port prior to embarkation, my concern is that  after uploading the results the required confirmation does not come back in time  for us to be able to check in for the flight, also we would need to stay over the night before and if the WiFi is not good this could delay the result confirmation. We did a cruise from Southampton and the test we had there done by P&O prior to embarkation mine came back within 1 hour my husbands did not come back until we were on day 3 of the cruise ! luckily P&O could check his on their system which allowed us to board, a number of people experienced the same thing and it was put down to poor WiFi, not sure if this is true but it is what I am concerned about . Has any one who has done a fly cruise recently experienced any problems with their tests  confirmation please. Many thanks

I am going on 14th December,up most nights reading through it all ,worrying about the test 9pm night before as you can’t check in till you have results that mean you don’t know what seats you have until then, also it don’t give much time if results are late as fly at 1230 lunch time.also we are in hotel so can’t print boarding passes or certification.also I read something about the address you have to put on the form for the cruise but can’t find it now and it’s stressing me out

Currently yes ..... but with Explorer *still* in dry dock who knows?

Explorer should not still be in dry dock if the only issue was the industrial action - hence it is clear she is having some remedial work done - question is how long that takes I guess?

Clearly Explorer is not going to make it to the Canaries in time for the 13/14 Dec itineraries which means they don't think it will be ready to make the journey until 12th Dec at the earliest (2 days to get from Cadiz to Gran Canaria)

With TUI having given up on getting her there by 13th,  my current thinking is that Explorer will now head to the Canaries on/around 17th December - but I would like to see her out of dry dock and moored up in Cadiz well before then.

I am due to go on explorer 14th December for caneries,we have had no mention of ships changing and have been given our cabin numbers. Hope it don’t get cancelled as it’s been a headache sorting tests and forms that need filling in 48 hours before etc
