We were lucky our Priority Line moved fast and we got to sit in the BC restaurant at 910 with a full 4 course dinner. But when we walked the ship afterwards, it was like a Ghost Ship that night. Passengers on board but Where?
And that's a communication problem right there. I too was on a Priority Line but when we got on the ship, they told us to go to our Muster Station, which was on the 7th floor, King's Court. The three of us sat there, had something to eat in King's Court and then went to our cabins. We didn't even know that the BC restaurant was open.

Very sad to hear that.

Hopefully, they'll test negative when they get to Southampton.

Our friends on board have just been notified that they are scheduled to fly back to NY onJan. 2. They have mentioned that if they test positive they will not be allowed to fly but will be kept in quarantine on the QM2 for 5 days and then have to fly home from the UK.
Thank you for that information.

I have a question. If a person needs to test negative in order to fly. What happens if someone from North America tests positive, which I guess means they can't fly? What happens to them?

My friends on this cruise will be expecting to stay on until Southampton, as she can’t fly anymore.
What would happen if someone was physically unable to fly, and they had to return to NYC? Sometimes the reason people cruise is because they are unable to fly.

What happens if someone who wants to fly back to NYC tests positive for COVID? Do they kick them off in Barbardos? Do they stay on the ship and go to Southampton?

What about luggage size and weight? Isn't there a weight limit on luggage on an airplane? I was on the QM2 in 2006, where there was a woman who had a huge box filled with just hats. A charter flight only holds so many people.
My mom's friend is going to have some interesting stories.
Are they letting people make phone calls from the ship to North America?

Wow, this is bad. My mom has a friend on the cruise, she's cruising solo and doesn't have a cell phone or email, so we have no idea what's going on.

As I said else where on this forum, my friends on this cruise didn’t have a clue that this could happen. They thought they were going into a Covid free bubble
The sad thing is when you're dealing with other humans, there's no such thing has 100% safety. Your friend were probably told by Cunard that "everything was fine." But the sad part is that people do lie, they lie about all sorts of thing. A friend told me about his relative who paid money for a fake vaccination card.

I have a question. A friend of my mother's is boarding in Brooklyn. How often will people be tested?
If people get off the ship in the Caribbean, will they be tested when they come back on board?
So confusing. I've been on the holiday cruise on QM2 a few times, I really feel for those people taking it for the first time. My first time on QM2 packing for the formal/elegant casual/semi formal night stressed me out. I can't imaging COVID on top of it all.

Wonderful posts. I really enjoyed them, especially the food. LOL.
Stay warm, it's cold in NYC today. One of my mom's friends will be on the 12 day Caribbean Celebration.
