Hi T25,  We really enjoyed our ocean front room when we last stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki.  We changed our plans in December to stay at the Moana Surfrider so I cannot give a recent review.  We did enjoy take out from Dukes a couple of times.  Make sure you make restaurant reservations as soon as possible.  You can always cancel them.  Have a great time.  Cherie

    Thank you!

The Iolani Palace and Bishop Museum were highlights of our first time on Oahu.  The luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center was also a lot of fun.  For those considering it, be advised that it's quite some distance from Honolulu, almost on the other side of the island.  Also, it is, or at least was, associated with a Mormon mission, so there's no alcohol and no caffeine served there.

Have you thought about visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu? We got a taste of it on our POA Explorer cruise in 2016 & we've always wanted to go back.  Now, after 5 POA cruises canceled & rescheduled, we'll be sailing in November with 4 days in Waikiki before we cruise. I've reserved a PCC package so that we can spend a few hours in the park, followed by a luau buffet dinner & their show, "Ha," as well as transportation that will pick us up & return us to our Waikiki hotel.  We also plan to do the "Monarch's Tour" that includes visits to the Iolani Palace & the Bishop Museum.

Thank you. I will look into these.

We also loved the trip to Haleakala.  Lots of folks suggested that the sunrise tour was even more spectacular, but getting up at 3:00 AM to make a 4:00 AM tour departure just wasn't in the cards for me.

I didn’t see either one as an option for our sailing.

I will let you know.  We have ocean front suites on the club level so I will let you know how the hotel is and how club level is.  Last time we stayed at Outrigger Waikiki Beach we were ocean front but not club level.    Cherie

We have an ocean front room booked for March. Did you enjoy your stay?

We highly recommend The Haleakala at Sunset excursion in Maui.   It was our favorite ship excursion.  In Kauai the first day, we rented a car in advance through Discount Hawaii Car Rentals and drove to Waimea Canyon.  We downloaded the Shaka App for Kauai and it served as a virtual travel guide.

We also arrived in Honolulu a few days early and did some pre-cruise sightseeing.  Check out Roberts Hawaii tours

Do you have recommendations for a catamaran sunset cruise in Honolulu? We booked a Pearl Harbor tour for day 2. Looking for one more sight seeing activity.

Aloha - While we are seniors, we are residents and not tourists - but perhaps we can help you.    As with other cruise lines, NCL excursions are expensive but less hassle than arranging things yourself or renting a car.  Are you going to be on the Pride of America?  What would you like to see?  How active would you like to be?  Make a list of what you are looking for and see what everyone suggests.

Yes, Pride of America. 3 nights in Honolulu first.  We just booked the following cruise excursions last night- Road to Hana, Luau Kalamaku premium seating, Journey to Waimea Canyon, Zodiac whale watching, Volcanoes National Park. No planned tours in Kona, will get off the ship and visit a restaurant and some shops.
