Could someone share what the current questions are on HAL’s Health Assessment? Thanks!

Basically ask if you have symptoms, tested positive in the last 14 days or been around someone with COVID in the last 14 days and if you have a negative test

That is the same answer I received. They count the day of boarding as one of the days. Also flying out Sunday and now have to take the test in Barcelona on Monday or Tuesday. See you onboard.

That’s dumb. Guess I took my test to early. I leave tomorrow so can’t take one tomorrow. Guess I’ll be running around Barcelona when I get there. Even counting the days from the trip…I board Sunday so Sunday to Saturday is one day, Saturday to Friday is 2 days and Friday to Thursday is 3 days.  So I think I’m ok. Unless HAL does common core math. LMAO

THANKS ALL - A little relief, I am sailing Sunday, so I am three days out, just got the e-mail this morning that it was available, and it is not...   I will keep trying, but won't lose sleep over it.  Looking forward to my first Alaska and first HAL cruise 🙂

Now if I can just stop stressing over my COVID test, I have been studying like crazy and better pass...

Waiting in line too. Should be here before midnight.

I think someone is having a problem with basic counting skills.  In your example, 1 day before is Tuesday, 2 days before is Monday, 3 days before is Sunday.  You are saying if the requirement would have been 1 day before, then it would have to be done on Wednesday (your embarkation day); that just doesn't make sense.  Furthermore, why are you bringing 72 hours into play?  HAL never mentions hours in:

    Europe cruise protocols PDF

Now, I don't know precise wording from Spain, but the post above on Canada's 2-day requirement has a completely clear example:  post #13

Torquer I agree with your math. I am sailing on Sunday. Need a test within three days prior to boarding. So I’m taking my test tomorrow (Thursday) since that is three days prior. At least by my math it is. If it isn’t, I’ll be scrambling in Barcelona to get a test.

I am confused by this thread as well. I always enter my airline member number when purchasing with HAL and within 24 hours I have access to the flight via the app or the airline website.

I can access all my flight information on United. But when I went to the SAS website and app to try and request seats it told me I could not request seats because the flight was not yet ticketed. So that’s the issue.

I see that you booked SAS.  Did you book an economy ticket?  If so, do you know what economy class the ticket is?  I see SAS has a bunch of different economy classes and some include a checked bag and some don't.  Do you know if your ticket included a checked bag?  Thanks!

I have no idea. That was confusing. But I’m always either with an extra bag or overweight coming home so I end up playing. LoL. I was just looking for direct flights after a horrible transit experience in March through Heathrow.  I would check it out but it’s not ticketed so I can’t see anything.

I booked using Flight Ease today and had no problem. I got a confirmation number and my flights are already ticketed through KLM/Delta. I did get the red error message online, but the confirmation number allowed me to go directly to the KLM website and select our seats.

I had no problem with United. Sas is telling me it’s not ticketed yet when I go directly to their website.

  8. I had the same problem. Was ticketed for lunch outbound flight on United (I think) because I was able to pick seats. But for my flight home on SAS the site says I’m not yet ticketed. I leave 5/27. I sure hope it doesn’t get cancelled for not being ticketed. My outbound flight is pretty sold out and both are direct flights. Keeping my fingers crossed it works out.

This has been my experience, having been in Germany and Switzerland this past December... Both Border Controls counted back 72 hours from the local time. So... 72 hours back from 5pm Hungary time (UTC +1) today (3/3) would be 11am Monday (2/28). Your test results timestamp would need to be AFTER 11am Monday (2/28). The timestamp is usually the time at which the test was administered.

Are you not vaccinated? I ask as:

    If you’re fully vaccinated

If you’re fully vaccinated, you can enter Hungary without needing to test or quarantine.

    If you’re not fully vaccinated

If you are not fully vaccinated, a negative PCR test conducted in the previous 72 hours of arrival is required for entry into Hungary. For the negative PCR test to be accepted, the document proving the PCR test result should be either in Hungarian or English and should contain the following data:

Date; Type; Result of test; and evidence of where the test was performed.

I pulled this from the Hungarian Government site. They are following EU Shengen policy.

Thus... the EU has declared boosters to be necessary for visitors after 9 months (270 days) of the final shot of the first phase of vaccination.

    Cheers

Thanks! I am vaccinated. I’m getting the test Saturday morning before I leave…72 hour PCR test and paying extra for same day results. I should be ok. Apparently only US citizens need a PCR test for entry.

I have not been able to locate the information for vaccinated travelers on the Hungarian Government site.  Could you supply a link?

The information was on my airline app and also on the final travel documents that I received from Viking.

I flew into Budapest in early August 2021. The time zone difference is your friend. The 72 hours is counted from your arrival in Budapest using local Budapest time.

The time difference is a good 6+ hours depending on where you live, so just Google to find out the exact time zone difference. In the US we are earlier than Budapest so you add those hours to the 72. By the way, when I arrived in Budapest no one looked at my test or my vaccination papers. The only time my negative test was reviewed was before I boarded the plane.
    Enjoy your trip !

This still confused me. I feel like I need a PHD in math to figure it out.
i live in New York so that’s 6 hours behind Budapest. So if I land on a Monday at 5 pm then what time is the earliest I can take this test?

Are you sure it’s 72 hrs before arrival?  Quite often it’s 24-72 hours before flight departure as is the rule for entry into US (24 hrs.).

Yes Hungary says 72 before arrival.

  13. So I have a question and I’m hoping some of you can help. I am required to take a Covid test 72 hours before my arrival in Hungary. If I land in hungry on a Monday evening at 5 PM what is the earliest time I could take that Covid test? Does the time based on the time zone I’m living in which is the United States for the 72 hours or is it based on the time zone I’m going to? I’m confused as to what time I need to take this test so I was going maybe some of you have has this situation and could provide some advise. I plan on calling the cruise line tomorrow.

I admire your spirit, and I think I would do the same.  Why should one megalomaniac's misdeeds harm the economies of other innocent countries?

OTOH we are scheduled for a Baltic cruise this summer with 3 nights in St. Petersburg – THAT I will not do.  Luckily it's on a British cruise line, and if UK keeps Russia bright Red on its do not sail map, there's no way my cruise can go there.

I don’t think any cruise lines will be making stops in Russia this year. Just my opinion. I was in St. Petersburg in 2018 Ans loved it. I’m scheduled for a cruise in Russia next year but I’m already planning for changing that…just waiting to see what happens at the year progresses!
