  1. I sailed on AOS 9/17-24th. Did not notice any vibrations. We were in a JS on deck 9. Through out the week they had an issue with water on that deck. They had the blowers in the hallway almost every day. It did not affect our cabin but my girlfriend and her husband were in the cabin next to us and noticed a musty smell in their cabin. They told their room attendant and it was taken care of immediately!! I can't say enough about the cabin attendants and every employee we encountered. Everybody was so professional and very helpful. Food....so so. Wait staff...awesome!! I am one of those cruisers who doesn't look for the negatives...had a fantastic time and enjoyed all the islands. I might rethink sailing out of San Juan again though but that is just me. Is AOS ready for a refurb? Yes. But nothing I noticed that was major. A stick drawer, paint chipping on the balcony and in our bathroom, but otherwise...no complaints here.

  2. I too recommend the Blue Hole tour. We docked in Falmouth in April 2015. We were on a 6 day cruise aboard IOS. My girlfriend booked private tours for Falmouth and Grand Caymen. The Blue Hole was a wonderful trip!! The guide met us at the pier and we (8 of us) had the best day. He stopped at a convenience store for us so we could buy some cold drinks. He also brought us to a great "hole in the wall" for a delicious jerk chicken lunch (included in fee). There is not much walking involved in the Blue Hole...as much or as little as you like. I chose to opt out of many of the "jumps" we were allowed to do (into the water)...and instead just swam around. We got back to the ship with a couple of hours to spare. A long day but well worth it!!:)

  3. My family cruised on Independence of the Seas in April. Our Cabana was 250. This included floating mats, towels, and a cooler with 4 large bottles of water. We had cruised on Explorer in 2013 and at that time I was able to book the Cabana months in advance... price was 200.00. This trip in April on IOS I was not able to book ahead. We had to go to the excursion desk on embarkation day and book it. Our cabana was over the water so we only had to walk down some stairs with the floats and wade into the beautiful warm water... very nice. Our cabana boy(?) was just o.k. this time around, but he did get us some wristbands to wear so that we could eat in a designated area... food great!

  4. I have cruised both ships. Liberty was in February 2011 out of Miami, for 8 days Eastern Caribbean. We had a blast and the ship was big and beautiful. We then cruised Explorer in February 2013 out of NJ. 9 Nights Eastern Caribbean. The Explorer was a beautiful ship but not as many dining options and the promenade is not as large. We still had a great time. I would sail Liberty again if they offered longer cruises...most of Liberty cruises are 4 and 5 day. I definitely enjoyed the size of Liberty better than Explorer.

  5. Have done Turtle Cove twice! Loved these guys! A very knowledgeable group of guys who obviously love what they do! The boat they use looks like a pirate ship. On the way out to the cove they review how to use the equipment and give you some background on the island and their qualifications. You are given ample time to snorkel. The first time we went we did not see as many turtles and the water seemed murky. The next trip was so much better. The water was so clear and there were so many turtles! On the return trip they turn up the music, pour the "pain killers" and relax with the guests. They give a bit of a sales pitch to sell their T-shirts but we didn't mind...they were pretty funny actually. They also give out temporary tattoos to anyone that wants one. We really enjoyed the time! Plenty of time to shop and walk around after the tour ends.

  6. My family booked a cabana on our last visit to Labadee in February 2013. There was a total of 8 of us and they gave us all wrist bands..no questions asked. we were 4 adults and 4 18 year olds..the teens did not spend a bunch of time in the cabana but used it periodically throughout the day. I noticed that there were not a lot of cabanas in use so that might be why they didn't mind that we had two more people than what was allowed.

  7. Not to worry...the price is per cabana...I booked one in March 2013 and the price showed up as per person, but the bill was a straight 200 for up to six people. we actually were able to have 8 people share the cabana and there was no extra charge. Also, book as soon as you can because the price may go up. We loved the Cabana...hope you do too.:D

  8. It is just amazing how many NEW posters are advocating park at Premier. One begins to wonder if they are not somehow tied into the many, many websites that Premier/CheapParkFly/AirportParking, etc. etc. operate. All the same company with MANY websites.

Now we are getting hit with posters who are new to CC and advocating park at the Premier lot in Bayonne.

    You really have to wonder.

So are you saying that parking at the Port I will NOT be liable for anything that might happen to my vehicle while I am on my 9 night cruise?? Perhaps one should question what your motives are. I found Premier parking website on my own...through a google search....why are you so against paying less (11.99 a day vs. $19 a day), If it were FREE parking then I would definately say "too good to be true". Curious to hear your response.

  9. I am loving this thread! Have to admit that all this reading is leaving me a bit confused:rolleyes: we are driving down from NH the night before our cruise. Two families of 4...2 cars. I wanted to pay the 19/day parking at pier....the men want to look into stay/cruise rates at nearby hotels...are shuttles free to pier? And how reliable are they when we disembark as far as bringing us back to hotel to get our cars? Will the savings be worth it? Thanks for your input.

  10. My family(husband, two sons and myself) took our first cruise in2006 on Star Princess. We booked a junior suite which was quite spacious and beautiful! The cruise was during Thanksgiving week and it was a Western Caribbean cruise: Jamaica, Cozumel, Princess Cays, and Grand Caymen. The weather was so so all week. Rough seas kept us from visiting Grand Cayman so we had an extra day at sea. My kids were much younger and did not want to use the kids club on board so they spent a lot of time in the suite or at the pool. Dining room was not very fancy.....food was good but service was slow. This past Feb. we cruised on RCCL Liberty of the Seas during school vacation week....Eastern Caribbean 8 night cruise. RCCL is more expensive, but there sems to be more for kids to do, larger ship yet never felt crowded even on school vacation week and all the ports were wonderful...and we docked at each port so we did not have to tender...much easier! My boys had an inside room and we had a balcony across the hall. They were 5 years older than the last cruise so they quickly made new friends and we seldom saw them during sea days...until dinner. Food was fabulous...dining room was beaufiful....wonderful service throughout the ship! Princess was a very pretty ship, and we have great memories from that trip....it was our first cruise so it was all new and exciting for us. I do feel that RCCL has more to offer its passengers, and especially is more fun for the teens and younger crowd...although I had a blast too! I am planning our next cruise for Feb. 2013 and it will be on RCCL again. Some day I would like to cruise Princess again but will wait until my boys are no longer traveling with me.
