    Good for you.

Did you stay with Air Canada?

How much more did it cost?

why didn’t you just book your flight directly with the airlines?

Given  the very liberal change and cancellation policies of airlines (for air credit) there is little risk not using FBC.  Even better IMO.

    Happy New Year.

Switched to American. Liked not flying to Canada first. The tickets were about $3100 for two round trip, about $200 less than Air Canada. I booked through Chase Travel using Chase Sapphire points and money.

FBC made it easy to cancel too.

    Happy New Year!

  2. Looking for advice from the been there done that people.

I booked our flights through Celebrity. I tried using the record locator provided to select seats on out Air Canada flights. The message I received back was check with your travel agent. This was about a week ago.

I called Celebrity today and was told Air Canada does not let you pick your seats until 30 days before your flight, but I could call and check with them.

Called Air Canada and all was going great until it wasn't. They said that I would just need to get a ticket number from the travel agent.

My feeling is that even through they are saving room for us we really don't have a ticket yet? I purchased a premium economy ticket so that we could pick the seats we want.

Any comments to help me get the seats or understand how this works is welcome.

    Thanks!

  3. Great review! We stayed in a Sunset Veranda and were happy to be able to be outdoors during rainy periods. The windows going up and locking on E-class ships are not for me. We loved hanging at Craft Social and the casino. We enjoyed the shows as well, those were some of the best we have seen at sea!

  4. We were on Vision Dec 10th and had bought the package online right before we left home. Bought the PP and once on board noticed we had UP stickers.

A friend told me that on CC people were talking about it. I asked the beverage manager about it and he checked. The did give us the 40% discount which was about $400. Very welcome. We are D+.

It's funny with the packages because the larger ships have a better selection. Vision had IMO a pretty limited selections of beers. That is one reason I like the package. I guess I never thought about the ship selection having a bearing on the selection of drinks.

  5. I can sympathize with your disappointment, but let me offer another perspective. Having a balcony affords you some lovely views, peaceful sunrises and sunsets, a quiet place to retreat in the afternoon and connect with the ocean! While I always enjoyed being able to have a cigarette and beverage on my balcony, it's just one of the many things I enjoy about having one, and I would still book them in a heartbeat even though you can no longer smoke on them. So, try and enjoy the other benefits of having a balcony, and resign yourself to the fact that your smoking has to be done elsewhere!

Nice balanced post! And Hey we are cruising together! :)
