Do you have to give them your carry on? I guess one could just keep it and enjoy other perks?
There is no such requirement.

👆This has been my experience

I’ve never had it happen, but I saw someone post that they saw it go lower by like $50. Don’t hold your breath

It won’t be immediate. It may take a week or two to show up on your statement.

I’ve only paid my deposit for a June 2025 cruise and was easily able to make dining reservations in the web version.

I have some booked 18 months in advance. By waiting you are risking two things: price increase and selling out. If something populates later, simply cancel and rebook. There is no benefit to waiting.

It takes 8 seconds to attach luggage tags. Never heard of anyone needing to plan for this before!

You can always use your ID and birth certificate on closed loop US cruises

Breakfast at Johnny Rockets is my favorite “hidden gem”. It’s never crowded and the food is excellent!

If stairs are on the deck plan, I think it's safe to assume they are for passengers.
My reasoning - there are crew elevators on the ship, but you won't see them on the deck plans.
This! Crew stairs and elevators are not on the deck plans.

March!!?? There still are people waiting to hear back for their January cruises!! You are unlikely to hear anything until a few days before you sail

If none are available today, they won’t be available tomorrow. Studio cabins are very popular and sell out very quickly

My favorite is the barefoot beach hilltop

Most will be wearing normal casual clothing. Some will be wearing suits and ties. People wearing full on tux’s are in the absolute minority and I didn’t see any on my last 2 cruises this year. Royal isn’t a higher end cruise line. Celebrity is more higher end than Royal, so put that into perspective from your last cruise.

This is entirely untrue.
There are cabs at the back of the port area to take you to town or resorts.
It is NOT remote at all--it is 28 miles of coastline of MX directly across from Cozumel (which would conceivably be considered more "remote" as it is an island)
It is not particularly poorer than surrounding areas.Scuba excursions in the area get very good reviews so I would be inclined to believe the scuba diving is pretty good.
Actually your post is untrue. Costa Maya is NOT across from Cozumel. That’s Playa Del Carmen that is across from Cozumel. Costa Maya is several hours by car south of both Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen.

I wouldn't say it is VERY difficult to get out of the port, but staying left is good advice.
1000% STAY TO THE LEFT!!! 😂

I booked the Key at 18.99 pppd as it is only a dollar more than the Voom package. However, I thought that I read that it included 20% discount off the speciality restaurants, arising from which, I cancelled the dining package. This purchase does not show on my account/app but I have the email confirming the purchase.
Anyone know if the restaurants discount applies?
The Key 20% off only applies to reservations made on Day 1 onboard the ship.

On the days when you want to see a show that doesn’t jive with your MTD time, you have 4 options:
1) Go to the MDR stand by line
2) Make a speciality dining reservation
3) Buffet
4) go to a different free dining option
also, many shows have both an early and a late showing each day.

Yes it’s possible, but it is ultimately up to the folks at the pier if they will let you in early or not. Mostly they don’t really care anymore, but some HAVE been made to wait. It seems to be somewhat port specific on how much they enforce this.

Same here for our Oct 2024 cruise. We were not going to get it but for an extra $8 (8 night cruise) over the internet package, it was a no brainer. Since there are two of us it would have been slightly cheaper to purchase a two device internet package than the Key for both (about $270 total vs $300). For the extra $30 total, it was an easy decision. By the way, that price only came up about a week BEFORE the Thanksgiving sales. Once those sales started, the Key went back up to $24.99 (on sale). We would not have purchased it at that price.
So for my cruise, the Black Friday price was $24.99, which was the same price it’s been for 6 months. Then the week of Christmas it went to $18.99. Now it is sitting at $32.99!! $32.99 is a VERY hard pass!!
Edit: $32.99 Was yesterday’s price. I just went to reprice something today and saw it now jumped to $35.99 and this is with another “sale” going on!!!

I don’t know of any industry that will give you a past price that no longer exists if you change your mind down the road.
