Thank you for all of that info. DH and I have been to Boston a few times and have done the Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, Duck boats, and the Fenway Tour and Red Sox games. I definitely recommend the Fenway Tour! DH is a DIEHARD (!!!) Red Sox fan, and I'm trying to convince him to go to the game on the 13th, but he has to see how the timing pans out in seeing his mom. Maybe I'll go without him. I'm not a huge baseball fan but I do love going to games in person. (wink, wink, j/k). 😄

The 13th?  Arnt we sailing the 11th?  Ahh perhaps ur not on emerald..

We will be at Puerto Vallarta in January 2024.  Just going to the Malecon is one option we are considering for the day.  However, we are also considering doing a day pass to a resort instead.  Going to an all-inclusive resort would be nice, but it is not a make-or-break for us.  We are eager to read your recommendations based either from your experience or from your research.  Thanks.  (A nice beach-side restaurant along the Malecon might be a nice compromise).

Hi! Just doing  my own research... where  did you decide to go?  Thx

We have a guarantee deluxe balcony booked for our May Alaska 2024 cruise.  I know it has been a few years for you but do you remember when your cabin was assigned?  Was it real close to embarkation or a few weeks out.  Thanks in advance.

We booked within 2 weeks of departure and found out about 5 days out...  you will love it!

  4. I booked an if guarantee in may 22 to Alaska and received a front balcony right near Salty's.  We loved it! Great treat! This time we were only able to book an if (on casino rate) ...after searching around I see the ship has over 200 cabins still empty (leaving may) so looking forward to an upgrade

  5. Great info in this string...  hoping for local info...  I have a choice of flights arriving lax at 1140 am or 945 pm on Wednesday.  With hotel and ride to hotel, its more than my flight itself so looking for cheaper option... will 10pm be cheaper getting to crowne plaza?   (Our cruise is thur am...)

We just got back.  Rented a car from Budget.  They have a shuttle (shares with Avis) that picks up right at the pier however the NCL rep at the pier directed us to a cab and said Budget does not pick up at the pier.  Had we continued walking the way we were headed (past the NCL employee) we would have exited the building and seen the sign that said car rental shuttle.  Instead, he directed us to exit to the left where there were waiting cabs.  No problem getting one, but it was fairly early.  I think we were off by 8:15ish.  The cab ride was $20 to the airport.  Once at Budget they told us they run a regular shuttle and that we would be able to take it back to the ship when we returned the car.  We kept the car overnight and just parked on the street as did many many others.  It is a short walk, less than 10 minutes and my mom has knee issues and walks slow.  Had it been just myself and my daughter it would have been less than 5 minute walk.  We left super early the next day to get to a Napoli Coast boat tour about an hour away and had no issues with anything.  Returned the car after the boat tour and took the Budget/Avis shuttle back to the pier where we were dropped off right at the door that we should have exited the morning before!  Super easy!  On Maui we rented a car for the two days from Turo and they dropped it off across from the pier for us.  We parked overnight at the Maui Seaside Hotel for $26 and walked back to the ship.  It was a longer walk but flat and easy.  If you have any questions just ask while it is still fresh on my mind 🙂. I had some trouble finding information on POA planning prior to going.

We r renting at 3 ports..  you mentioned the shuttle, did you find taking a cab (rather than shuttle) beat the line ups?   Thx

I was going to ask poster same thing.  Can they delete the Plus and "fall back" to Standard without possibly losing their current fare quote if better than today's pricing?

I asked my ta that... her answer was no.  Saying that, our cruise is more now for standard than we paid for plus.

I purchased 100 shares @ $9.85 and with my $250 SOBC I’ve essentially doubled my money.  I’m happy, and I’ll be happier when I have a cocktail in hand and looking at waves.

Lol  I bought at 9.85 too...  will see u on our sept 30 cruise!

Let the guarantee process play out.  You might just end up finding yourself with an upgraded cabin.  If you request a cabin be assigned now, it's game over.

I agree..  our inside guarantee booked 13 days before the cruise became a perfect balcony placement!  (We were told 5 days before cruise)

They do the iced lattes also. You can either order in person or on the app, many choices/variables for tea drinks. London Fog Latte and Earl Grey Latte are the same. I believe they have steamed milk, vanilla and honey.

There's also a delicious Honey Lavender Latte.

I'm used to having my chai tea made with two teabags, so the syrup is a bit different.

Just request it made with a bag... I did!

I’m a Tea drinker. A strange one who hates coffee in any form- including cake 😂

I’m cruising with Princess for the first time in August. Didn’t realise they do Chai tea lattes! This makes me very happy 😃

Me too!  Coffee... 🤮  I also ask for London fog.  And they have all those syrups so you can ask for anything...

Ah. got it.  But the below was what was throwing me.

My understanding is that you can buy the package on Day One, and it gets charged to your account.  Once there, normal payment rules apply, meaning that OBC gets credited first.  I haven't done this personally, so I can't verify from first person information, but I think that they are selling the package for a limited time.

May 5 onboard crown we purchased plus pkg after we had 2 drinks each.  Used cruise chat to request plus and to reimburse 2 drink prices.  They used our obc  easy peasie.  Hope this helps.

  14. Ketchikan is my favorite walking port..  the stairs and old homes are spectacular.  I go up creek street then up gentleman lane through the forest down the main road then up the stairs to the communities/homes.  Great workout!   Especially when it's sunny.
