There are around 15 or so regular balcony cabins (not obstructed view) available right now.  Not surprising because final payment is coming up in a couple of weeks.

Yeah, quite a few of those have opened up just in the last 24 hours.  When I cancelled mine this morning, there were 5 regular balconies and one obstructed, but then like ten minutes later it was showing "sold out" for both Oceanview and balcony - go figure.  Broke my heart cancelling that cruise, but some family events take precedence, like the wedding of your only child...

I remember reading on here when it happened that Carnival could have a new funnel slapped on her, practically in a matter of hours, and it could surely be done at Freeport.

In any event it won't matter in a few months when the funnel is repaired.

In the meantime though it certainly looks less than ideal, but yeah what was their alternative? Conquest class is their workhorse class, they literally can't afford to have any of them go down for any longer than is absolutely necessary.

I remember everything from "she'll be back to crossing in a few weeks" to "that damage is deep - she's headed for the scrapyard".

I don't, however, recall anyone claiming she'd get a whole new funnel that quickly 🙄

They will cut a chicken thigh into three pieces and that is one portion.

This is at least the fourth time (in four different threads) you've complained about a chicken thigh being cut into three pieces.  Does that really bother you so much?  If it's a buffet and you can eat as much as you want, what does it matter how many pieces they cut the chicken thigh into anyway?  Do you complain about the number of slices a pizza is cut into when you can get the entire pizza?

Just got back from a 5-day out of Miami.  There were plenty of the folks that people have used coded language to complain about and there were no problems at all.  No smell of weed, no fights, no unruly teens.  I have been on over 20 cruises with Carnival of all lengths, itineraries, and home ports, and have never seen many of the issues people claim happen on every Carnival cruise.

Ooh, ooh, what's the "code" you're taking about and how does one get into the secret club to use it??!

Lets simplify this whole calculator, is it wort it, BS...

Will you put away on average 10 cocktails or 13 beers a day, every day, for the entirety of your cruise? (or like a 5/7, 3/5 ratio, something close?

Then you'll get your money's worth from Cheers!

Except you don't need to drink anywhere near that much.

I realize that some are removing tips.  But so often on these boards I come across these assumptions that 'all those people in line are complaining and/or removing tips'.  I see it in reviews, I see it in various threads, and it irritates me.  As I am standing in line at GS for a non-complaining, non-tip-removing reason, I am being judged a tip-remover by all the ignorant, judgmental people that enjoy feeling superior to me based on their incorrect and ignorant assumptions.  And that sucks.  But then, some people will always need to find reasons to feel superior to others, so I guess my I'm wasting my breath here.

You are definitely wasting breath, because at this point YOU'RE the one making assumptions.  No one at all said 'all those people in line are complaining and/or removing tips'.  That was your comment and yours alone.  You're the one ASSUMING you know what other people think.

I have spent time in the GS line on every one of my cruises over the last 18 years of cruising.  And I have NEVER reduced nor removed my gratuities.  Several times, in fact, I have been standing in that line to INCREASE my gratuities.  (How many of you judgmental people have done that?)  There are so many reasons someone can need the assistance of GS.  So, please, people, will you withhold your judgement on your fellow PAX standing in the GS line?  All this jumping to assumptions and negative judgments about others makes you appear to be ignorant jerks.

Are you saying no one removes tips in the GS line?  Because what *I* said was "SOME" of them are removing tips.  And unless you can convince us that NO ONE is removing tips, it's absolutely correct to say "some are removing tips".  Perhaps the subtle nuances of the word "some" were unclear?

The bottles were cheaper per drink than even cheers (lowest price per being $8ish IF you max out)

Something not quite right with your math there, buddy.  $60/day for Cheers maxed out to 15 drinks comes out to $4/per - not $8/per.  At $4/per, that 22-shot, 1L bottle isn't cheaper than maxed out Cheers after all.

12 oz is the size of the regular cups they put frozen dinks in.  There is always some left in the blender.  When you use the tervis 16 oz cups, the entire amount is poured into your cup.  I can't even put the lid on it until I drink some down.  Also the drinks last longer in the tervis cups.

Oh ok.  I don't drink many frozen drinks so I guess I never really paid attention to how big they are.  Thanks for the response.

I haven't seen this first hand, but last year someone posted on the other social site that there was a middle aged couple in the hot tub on the Pride.  The man had some kind of open sores all over his body🤢, which is disgusting enough, but then the wife took it to a new level of disgusting when she took out a razor and shaving cream and started shaving her legs 🤢🤮🤢🤮!

Even without that silliness, all I have to do is watch guys sit in there for two hours at a time slamming down beer after beer... and never leaving the hot tub.  That's enough to keep me out.

Any bar.  I brought both of the cups I bought 4 years ago and used it all cruise long at every bar I went to on the ship.  No issues,  16 oz at 12 oz price.  It's a great deal since you can use the cup over and over.  Just rinsed them out with hot water & a little soap each evening (or if switching drinks) and leave to dry on wash cloth overnight.

Just curious, but what drinks are you getting 16oz of at a 12oz price?  I'm trying to think of a drink that's sold in a 12oz size and honestly drawing a blank...

Sorry that poor wording is my bad. I did not personally have those people demoted and fired but they were my Captain and Staff Captains when our surprise FDA inspection resulted in horrendous scores. I will still *never* go into a hot tub on a cruise ship from what I have seen from those inspections.

Don't beat yourself up.  I think pretty much everyone else knew exactly what you meant.

With 2x odds, may as well just do pass & 6/8 for max odds and sit on it

Play a 3 point molly.  Less than 0.5% house advantage.  You can play all night on that if you don't do anything stupid like bet the side bets, hard ways and horns they try to sell you on.

There's a reason the dealers want you playing them, and it's not because they favor the player.

  14. Can't speak for Celebration of Mardi Gras, but on Spirit last month Craps was a $5 min, with terrible 2x odds.  Blackjack was $6min (trying to get you to play a $5 hand and an extra $1 on the foolish "lucky ladies" side bet - don't do it).  In fact, don't play a lot of blackjack at all, they're all 6:5 travesties.

I feel your pain.  We had a similar experience this summer on the Pride with a terrible room steward.  Our sheets were obviously not changed between us and the last guest...as in they were visibly dirty and REAKED of smoke and body odor.  There was mascara and blood stains on them.  For THREE days he didn't change them despite multiple phone calls. When I politely asked him on the third day to just give me the sheets and I would change them myself (because I could NOT sleep on dirty sheets someone else had slept on for a 4th night because I was so grossed out that it was affecting my ability to relax and sleep), he screamed at me that he was busy.  We ended up going to guest services and the head of house keeping came and personally change the sheets.  Fortunately, this was the only time I have ever had an experience like that. I think the problem is that they have some new crew who aren't as trained/good and they have more rooms to clean.

I can't believe you slept on them for the first three nights

    • Alchemy Bar-Seriously, this was a genius part on Carnival's end. Amazing drinks and amazing bartenders as always. I love craft cocktails, so this is my favorite place on board. Viktor, who just ended his contract today actually, has been on Spirit for almost NINE MONTHS, since before the initial startup in Jacksonville. He's coming to Miracle in a month, so make sure you seek him out. Katiya and Giovanni were the other alchemists and were also amazing. (Gio kept making me a strawberry vodka drink with raspberries that was incredible)

Couldn't agree more.  If Kat is still there, ask her to make a Key Lime Martini.

It has been some time since we cruised carnival. Will dining room be open for lunch after we get on the ship? Or is it the buffet, pizza or deli only. Just got off NCL and two restaurants were open.  Was nice to get off to start with nice sit down meal.

No Restaurant.  Buffet, pizza, deli, Guy's.  Maybe more.  But no MDR.
