What is the AMX  CC that you are getting $350 back from AMX ?  We have only the  blue AMX CC & would get $260 for $1000  ;but ,we like the $350   AMX credit rebate  .Is your AMX CC   one of the free ccs or do you pay a yearly fee /

Thanks in advance for your reply

Buy it anyway and report back. If you don't get cash back you can spend OBC at casino and take OBC back in cash.

Yes, we have done this at least three times.

Once we docked at the downtown older docks and Hertz met us at the pier, drove us to their office at the DOMESTIC airport (NOT KEFLAVIK) and we picked up the rental car there. Very easy. Their office is on the far edge of town; you could walk there but it would be a hike.

Another time we docked at Skarfabakki, and Hertz also picked us up there nad took us to their office, so we could pick up the car. That was 2019, so not all that long ago!

On another occasion we were making a cruise stop in Reykjavik (not ending the cruise there). We walked along the waterfront from Skarfabakki, a pleasant stroll, to the central bus station. From there we caught a bus to a stop near a Europcar location in town, where we picked up. Upon return they very kindly drove us back to the ship. I would NOT want to do this while carrying luggage.

I've also had Hertz shuttle us back to our hotel in downtown Reykjavik when we returned a car on embarkation day.

I think that some other agencies now have offices on the Skarfabakki pier - I vaguely remember seeing them there in 2018 but not sure which one(s) are there. But I've found that rental car companies in Iceland will generally work with you to help you get to their locations. Suggest that you reach out to a few of them and see what they can offer. Hertz's email for Iceland is simply hertz@hertz.is if you'd like to see what they could offer.

How do you arrange for hertz pick up?

I'm a bit confused...why should the hard working crew be penalized? They do not make the policy.

But why is it always the customers that have to tip everyday to help the crews getting a livable wage? Why can't cruiselines do that from the start then the tips will really be the extras. Cruiselines never gives us an honest information on how they really distribute the tips. Talk to the crews and you will get the real information.

I got that email a few hours ago as well and called the phone number and was told there is no record of that campaign yet. I was asked to call back on Friday as the rep said reservations get the new campaign details on Fridays. I wanted to ask about the discrepancies between the email saying 'free stateroom' but the PDF says different things... Guess I'll call back on Friday to find out what's what.

Any update? I wish I got the email....

  5. My friend is staying in another cabin and we are thinking of bidding to Aqua class. If only one of the cabins got to Aqua so the other one is sol on joining the other party at BLU?

Booked a free ocean view cabin, free drinks while playing in the casino and $250 free play on the Koningsdam for August 2023.  When I called to book, was originally assigned a guaranteed OV cabin.  Next day, I purchased Orange Club for the cruise and was able to get the meta upgrade and select my cabin.  I also received a casino discount on the OC purchase which was nice—was charged $260 for the cruise.

I had received the email offer in January.  Got an email last week reminding me time was running out on my offers.

How lucky! I have not received anything good in a big while.

I just got off celebrity solstice a couple of weeks ago and I was in aqua class for three weeks in cabin 1554 and 1552 they are under the solarium by the hot tub‘s and I never heard anything. And yes you can phone and if there’s other cabins available they will usually let you switch.

In those room you get a bigger balcony right? Do you perhaps have photos of the balcony?

  8. Got a move up offer, now I am on concierge and thinking about bidding to Aqua.  But not sure if this deck will be loud for Aqua class? The map shows it is under a pool deck. Any input? Also I know I cannot pic my cabin for move up but if my big got accepted can I call my TA and have them pick a cabin that I want?

This was the first cruise in about four cruises where we didn't get a free stateroom casino offer at the end of the cruise and only got free play casino offer. I will say I spent more time and money in the casino on this B2B cruise we were on than any other cruise. I know it's a mystery as to what triggers what but we are glad we got something, so that was nice. We cruise again on Dec 20th, and not going to spend as much time and money in the casino this time so we will see happens.

What kind of free stateroom do you usually get in your offer?

IF you spend any reasonable amount of time in the casino over the course of your sailing, you are likely to receive a casino cash offer towards the end of the sailing.  The $$$ amount of the offer will likely be somewhat commensurate with the time and $$$ you spent in the casino for that cruise.  IT is not clear to me that that relates directly to any future "free cruise" offer you may receive.

I will try my luck. I would rather book a free stateroom deal than the feeling that I am going on the next cruise just for mainly maximizing casino freeplay.
