Not quite on point, but we frequently use Tours by Locals.  Last year a port in Dublin was cancelled.  We got a full refund from TBL without problem.

Using TBL in Sardinia in a week. Can’t wait!

Just for fun I looked up the flights I booked on Flightease for an upcoming cruise, arriving in Lisbon 3 days early and leaving Stockholm 3 days after we get off the Quest.

Business on Flightease was ~$3700, when I booked the cruise, quite a bit in advance, much better than I could get booking on line, and I couldn’t do it with miles, so I grabbed it, knowing I didn’t have to pay until final payment. No transfers included as we’re going early and staying late.

Kept she king to see if I could get a better deal. Price for the same flights a few months later was ~&6000 each. Flightease price held firm.  Felt smug.

    Today’s online price: ~$10,500 each

what a world, what a world

Same. Flight Ease business out of Lisbon to PHL was far less expensive than direct booking. I did find a great deal on business to Rome out of JFK, panicked and took it before I could book with Flight Ease. Had I waited, I would have paid slightly more out of PHL, but far less than booking direct PHL - FCO. Kind of a bummer as the drive to JFK will be annoying, but I had no idea Flight Ease deals would be so great for my routes.

A usual situation with airline computer systems.  Nothing to worry about.

Happens with virtually all of my reservations - the boarding passes have that, but never had a problem.

Thank you! We feel better knowing this!

PRMinx   We have used FlightEase several times in recent years and I remember I was panicked the first time when our names were mushed together…but, it’s fine.  It really is.

    Thank you for the reassurance!

No, this is wrong.  I work for a major airline and we can easily add or correct your Known Traveler Number on your reservation at the counter or a kiosk or you can do it yourself on the app.

Following up on this thread. Now that our flight has been ticketed, I was able to correct the Known Traveler Number through my AA account. Our names are still weird (first and middle smashed together - firstnamemiddlename Ms). I was able to add middle names in a the middle name box on the tickets. Reached out to AA customer service about the first name smash up and they told me it was fine because they see our middle names on the reservation.

Really weird to me, but we have no choice other than to trust AA customer service.

That's strange. I've never seen it presented this way. Just discovered that they also got my Trusted Traveler number wrong. AA is saying they haven't purchased the ticket yet. I'll probably try to call them today to better understand what is happening.

Just following up if anyone is interested. Called Seabourn. All is well, the name thing is normal. They will officially ticket the trip 45 days out. They apologized on the Trusted Traveler number, but they couldn't change it. Some system thing. It’s not a big deal, I can handle that at the airport.

I don’t think that’s a Flight ease thing, I think that’s an airline thing. My direct booked tickets look like that too.

  8. We reserved our flights with FlightEase for our upcoming Mediterranean cruise. The cost savings for business class were huge compared to booking directly with AA. We reserved in July, just paid the final payment. No change in price.

I have (what I hope) is a minor issue in the way they presented our names to the airline. In my AA app it appears as: Firstnamemiddlename Last Name Ms and Firstnamemiddlename Last Name Mr. The names are correct, but I don’t know why they jumbled them together this way and I hope it doesn’t cause an issue for us. Everything appeared correct on the FlightEase site….

This American enjoyed a specially prepared Indian dinner on Odyssey following our ceremony officiated by the captain.

Different strokes for different folks, but this American loves great Indian food which is very hard to come by where I live.

American here. I love Indian food - the spicier the better - and will pretty much do anything for a great batch of naan. I will literally eat my weight in naan and then roll myself back to the cabin for the food coma. LOL. We are traveling with family that doesn’t like Indian, but I’m hopeful that maybe there’s a lunch or dinner special dish I can try…

  10. I've heard that there is trivia onboard! We love trivia. I imagine this is a sea day activity. Does anyone know the timing for trivia, generally? I realize this is a very specific question, but a lady needs to plan her spa treatments. #seabournproblems 😆

I am ticketed for cruises in October-December and  January and June.  I just ticketed these flights within the past two weeks.

All cruises were paid for on my credit card which offers some protection.

    Thank you.

I don't think my CC helps here, but the next step is travel insurance. The cruise itself was a gift - but I'm considering disruption insurance for airfare. Departure flights are booked directly with AA.

I have never had a problem with Seabourn Flight Ease-- currently I have 3 flights booked.  I also reserved my seats and checked the airline website to make sure it was on my reservation.  I did not book one return flight with Flight Ease because they did not have a non stop for the return.  I booked directly with the airline for a non stop flight.

Thank you for your feedback! When you booked with Flight Ease, did you book the Flex Air? If so, when did you pay and get officially ticketed?

My cruise leaves in March. Previously, I had not been able to find a better deal on Flight Ease compared to booking direcly from an airline. But, this time, the price on Flight Ease is about 30% cheaper. It is difficult to find the exact underlying fare rules. On SB's side, it says the fare is only good when bought as part of a cruise package. On the airline web site, it says the booking class is K, but I cannot get any further information.

I am most interested in hearing anyone's experience in reqesting early ticketing. Given that there may be many different fare rules, I don't expect any definitive answer, but any kind of experience, good or bad, will be helpful.

Thank you. You understand my struggle! I know people here have their preferences, but this is a legitimate question about a service Seabourn provides. It appears to be working well for some people.

Using Flight Ease gets us a business class ticket on a nonstop flight to our home airport. The price is less than half what I would pay AA direct. I understand it might be a risk and the tickets may not be the same as if I booked direct with the airline, but it is still a Seabourn service (not a scam), so I'm inclined to believe that it's worth it.

Like you, I would just like to hear other people's experiences with Flight Ease Flex and early ticketing. I've been having more luck in the FB groups.

Many June dates are not even loaded into the GDS yet.

Those might be difficult to ticket.  🙂

It is early June. The tickets were “bookable” with great prices on flex. I grabbed them and they are now even showing in my AA account, with seat assignments. I have not yet paid and can apparently change anytime. But, prices can also go up anytime. I can request to be ticketed, but I haven’t clicked that link yet because I’m not sure how it all works and I don’t want to make a mistake. I just want to lock in the great rate and will pay earlier - today even - to do so.

Have you worked through this before? Any advice? Thanks 😊

Since the price of Flexible Fare is not guaranteed until the tickets are paid for, what are people's experience with prices changing in the mean time? Also, is it worth asking for "Requiest Early Ticketing" to lock-in the price?

I have the same question. I’ve “booked” flex air at a great rate for a cruise in June. Should I ask to be ticketed now? Does anyone have experience with this?
