  1. We just booked a below the waterline cabin on a 2025 AMA Waterways Christmas Market cruise last week, so I'm glad to see all the above responses!  We figured the same as other posters:  not in our room much, cold weather & dark early.  We saved a good amount by not choosing a French balcony cabin & will use that savings towards another trip next year.

We booked the last below the waterline cabin on that cruise, so others have the same thoughts as us!

  2. Enjoying your trip report, thanks for taking the time to post!  We are on the same cruise in September.  It's interesting to hear what you're doing in each port.  We also have a food tour booked in Genoa.  Wonder if it's the same one?

We were on the Enchantment's TA. While we tendered out in the Villefranche harbor, the tender took us around the corner to Nice.  We did not tender into Villefranche.

I'm curious about this.  We have a private tour booked & are meeting the tour in Villefranche.  I sure hope the tender doesn't take us to Nice!

  3. Glad to hear you both had great tours with Jackie!  I have a tour booked with her in two weeks.  Just trying to decide what to do.  Definitely Maho Beach in the afternoon.  I like the idea of Parotte Ville Bird Park.  Would also like to add some beach time in as well.  We've been to Orient Beach twice before, would like to try a different beach.  Jackie gave some recommendations, I just need to figure out which one to choose!

Heads up.  In December 2022 on the Voyager, we were not allowed to leave ship after check in (we asked when onboard).  I don't know if this has changed.  I also have dropped off bags and went off pre covid and was disappointed we couldn't go back out.  So hopefully this has or will change so ask onboard.  And please let us know!

This is what we are hoping to do in April.  Our 1st time in San Juan.  We have a 12:00 boarding time.  Thought we could drop off our luggage, check in, have lunch, do safety drill on app, then cab to El Morro for the afternoon.

If anyone sailing soon could confirm whether allowed back off the ship once checked in, we would appreciate it!  If not, I guess we will either just drop off our luggage, then cab to El Morro or check in & stay on the ship.

  5. Thanks, Rockmom!  We are none of those things.  We joined a shared excursion with another group of 4 on our Roll Call.  Hopefully we can coordinate our tenders.  I will do what I can to get early tender tickets for our group of 4.  Per the Excursion Company, our meeting time is 8:25, with departure time of 8:30.  Arrival time in port is 7:00.
