  2. Just back from the Celebrity Edge Naming & Ribbing Cutting Ceremony.

With Champaign in our hands, this EPIC evening began with Nate Berkus, Docent & Edge Travel Ambassador, music from the Saint Andrew's Pipe Band, President & CEO of Celebrity Cruises, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Captain Costas Nestoroudis, Special Performance by  Andra Day, Godmother Malala Yousafzai (a Pakistani activist, student, UN Messenger of Peace and youngest person ever awarded the Nobel Peace Prize), followed by Richard Fain, Chairman & CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

The ship design is "over the top modern", pushing the envelope for a greater and unique guest experience.

The Celebrity App helps you make the most of your time while on board, with real-time activity schedules.  Enjoy keyless entry to your room with your mobile device which also plays many other roles (control your TV, temperature, lists and blinds*)

Celebrity has taken the standard elements that we cruisers are familiar with and taken to the next level to enhance your overall cruising experience.

The Rooftop Garden is a delightful venue to be enjoyed day and nite, offering a relaxing setting with music and casual dining.

Taste of Spa offered an escape that you deserve, interactive shower and steam room with enticing treatments and heated loungers.

While on board we experienced many dinning venues, nightly entertainment, lounging at the Solarium, ship tour of Iconic and Two-Story Edge Villas.  We even took a Bridge tour and met Captain Costas Mestoroudis.

On our last night, we enjoyed the "Revelation at Eden" experience, which as a one of a kind immersive experience with a creative spin on the true spirit of Eden, playful interactions and enticing performances.

  3. For those who have previously disembarked in Civitavecchia; our ship is scheduled arrive at 05:00 but does anybody know what time we might actually be permitted to disembark? Luggage is not an issue as we carry our own. Trying to plan an early escape to FCO with private transfer and need to choose a time. Thanks!

There are a couple options when making your way on your own into Central Rome after disembarking the Port of Civitavecchia.

Depending on where your ship docks, you can take the free shuttle to either Largo della Pace or Fort Michelangelo.

From Largo della Pace, walk a short distance to Argo Bus to transfer to Civitavecchia Train Station

From Fort Michelangelo, cross the street and head south (5 blocks) to Civitavecchia Train Station.

The difference is you will be pulling your luggage for a short distance when arriving at Fort.

Tickets can be purchased in the train station, and travel to several stations along the way. The most popular train route travels to Station de Roma Termini as most visitors are staying nearby. Once you arrive in the station, catch a quick taxi to your hotel.
