  2. We too were also on this cruise and agree with the original posters opinions.

A few points: Yes!! The Equinox staff is fantastic and friendly!! The ship is in good shape with no areas I would avoid. We were in a veranda with an extended balcony (on the slant of the hump). Only chairs, no lounger. Entertainment was very enjoyable. We felt the comedy venue (4 forward) was too small for a non-repeating show and chose to leave one time when it was shoulder-to-shoulder standing-room only.

We had late seating (8:30 PM) which was < 50% full. Our table for 6 was just the 2 of us. We found another partially full table the next night and found some great people to eat with. Wife is also GF and enjoyed the pizzas and pastas at lunch. Our dinning room head waiter offered the "next-night's" menu to allow for GF preparation in a timely manner. Didn't need specialty restaurants and they seemed a bit more pricey than before the pandemic.

My wife also did the "Hollywood Glass." Reservations every 20 minutes and seemed to be available 6-8+ hours a day. Emmie is a fantastic teacher and very patient. Prices are $120-175. I would recommend observing others before partaking so that you can be ready to do as much as possible without getting behind.

The 5-7 Elite "Happy Hour" was less timely for us with late seating. We did figure out to get some unopened beers, water and soda with a few shots "neat" to enjoy after resting and before dinner. We found a few bartenders to be "helpful" regarding the limited Elite Bar menu ... 😉😉

Finally, the itinerary worked great for me as I have a relatively intense job. Enjoying 2 sea days initially and 2 more before returning to work the day after the cruise was perfect. We were very lucky to arrive to FLL early the night before the cruise on Southwest Airlines just 6 days after their problems occurred and returned home only 3 hours late connecting in Atlanta after their shutdown due to tornado warnings.

  3. Each time I cruise I grab a waiting taxi to the Tri Rail station on Griffin Road no matter which terminal I’m at. I’ve never had a problem. FYI if you ask the taxi driver to take U.S. 1 to Griffin Road it is cheaper and takes the same amount of time. Tri Rail runs About 10 minutes before the hour every hour and is about $5. A taxi all the way to PBI would be well over $50.

Tri. Rail has a shuttle bus from the West Palm Tri Rail station to PBI and it’s free. (I go to the last stop, Mangonia).

I’ll be getting off the Allure tomorrow and that’s how I’ll be heading home.

    More details please!!

Assuming there are "no problems" with debarkation and travel to the airport, what is your estimated schedule to PBI? In other words, what time will you leave the ship, what Tri Rail train time will you take, and what is your PBI departure time?

What is the earliest PBI departure time you would schedule based on the time leaving the ship (e.g. +4 hours)?

  4. Just made D+, so the 175 level.

I too was able to log in using my old ID & Pswd. Funny, had to close my browser (logging out didn't work) to log into my wife's account. Anyway, for 175+ ...

  5. OK, I have scanned in the Cruise Compasses and the Kids Club Compasses and the MDR Kids Menu, but they are .jpg and clueless me is struggling to work out how to link them to this post. So if this link works, can someone please post a reply and let me know, before I do them all wrong?

    Many thanks!

Yes, I was able to download and see a 1-page, black & white "Kid's Menu"

Plans to do this or a similar cruise next summer, appreciate your time and effort.

  6. Another slightly off-topic question based on curiosity alone as the amounts are small, but I could pursue the matter if others have had a different response ...

I booked a cruise >6 months from departure and received the D+ C&A Balcony Discount as expected. Recently repriced (at a significant savings) when the BOGOHO rates became available for this cruise. My booking number did not change nor did the invoiced booking date change; yet the C&A Balcony Discount dropped by $25 because, according to Royal Caribbean, my new "BOGOHO" rate was applied as the cruise was now <6 months from departure.

Anyone come across this discount change when cruise prices were adjusted after the 6-month departure time had passed?

  7. Help needed from the Balcony Guru's ...

West-bound transatlantic on Brilliance in early September

Room 7094 - Forward facing hump balcony (HUGE) on the port side.

    Or

Room 8594 - Center hump on the starboard side.

First week is very port intensive and the last 5 days are at sea. So, would you take that big balcony, 1 deck lower, facing towards the sunrises on the run of sea days? Or, a regular balcony, 1 deck further above from the lifeboats, on the sunset side of the ship? Should the potential cool temperatures affect my decision?

  8. Can any one tell me if serenade has a shuttle bus from cruise port to Ravenna?

Though we used the public transportation (Short walk, then Ferry, then Bus #70), here is page 1 of the Ravenna Cruise Compass from last June. Halfway down on the right are the shuttle details. Don't forget to compare your port arrival and departure times with ours and adjust accordingly.

  9. Deck - Vista (8)

    Cabin # - 8257

    Class – 1A

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Balcony

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Very quiet. The sliding glass doors between the elevators and the hallway along with the cabin door completely blocked all Grand Foyer (Centrum) noises. The room was non-connecting room.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The room is the 1st slant next to the hump cabins. Therefore, the view forward is fantastic - a great view of the port side bridge as well as the rooms in between. The view aft can be enhanced by leaning over the rail to see the hump balcony edges but none of the other aft rooms are visible. You can see part of the wake behind the ship. The view straight down is generally of the ocean, yet looking a bit forward and down lines up nicely with the lifeboats. Finally, privacy is not an issue when a few feet from the railing.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - (I think) one of the biggest. Others have stated verandas in slant rooms 1 (ours) & 3 (when counting from the hump) are bigger than 2 & 4, which are bigger than most of the standard verandas.

    Was wind a problem? Never

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin?

Read other's concerns about the partially obstructing sliding closet doors. I guess expecting a problem is better than assuming one detail and finding another - we were able to use the closet without difficulties.

Weird thing, the electronics of the safe in the closet started making beeping noises. Turns out, the iPhone in it was interfering even though it was in there for the previous 3 days.

    Any other comments?

Wireless reception for a MacBook Pro essentially the same as wireless in the iLounge. The wired Macs in the iLounge were just a little faster.

Great location, just steps from the Grand Foyer (Centrum) elevators and the main stairway.

Had plenty of closet, shelve and drawer storage for our 1-week cruise. Used the over-bed cabinets for dirty clothes.

Suitcases stored nicely under the bed.

Bathroom storage was above average compared to other ships.
