Hope you all have an amazing cruise Andy and look forward to all the reports regarding Britannia’s refit. We sail on her on 21st June and are really looking forward to our second cruise as we definitely enjoyed our first one.

I agree we did this cruise last year in June, definitely enjoyed the Flam Railway and Pulpit Rock from Stavanger.
I hope you have as a lovely time, as we did, although I must admit the weather wasn’t great but the scenery was amazing.

Enjoy your cruise Selbourne and TigerB and I’ll look forward to reading all about them in due course, especially as we are doing the Canaries next year with the same itinerary.

What an excellent opportunity, too good to miss. It was definitely meant to be with all the planets aligned at the right time. I’m sure you will have an amazing cruise with so many memories to look back on.

Kevin Simm is lead singer in Wet Wet Wet, replacing Marti Pellow, we saw him on board Britannia in July and it was an excellent show. He has a great singing voice and is definitely worth seeing.

Thank you for sharing Sarah, it’s certainly not boring, in fact the complete opposite. It’s definitely given us ideas for a future cruise. So glad your toe is feeling much better now.

Thank you, that’s a relief, it would be a shame if it spoiled their first cruise.

Can anyone help? We have some friends who have booked their first cruise for next year. They have booked a balcony cabin on F deck with a sofa bed and pull-down bed for just the two of them, they were advised by their TA that it wasn’t a problem as obviously the pull-down bed wouldn’t needed to be deployed, but they are worried about it rattling as they are both light sleepers. Hopefully someone who has been in this situation can help to put their mind at rest.

We went on our first cruise to the Fjords in June on Britannia, and, although initially I was a bit apprehensive, people on here reassured me and they were right we had a marvellous time. It is definitely addictive, we ended up booking two more cruises for 2024. Have a great time!

I've just returned from a cruise. Booked two cruises, select fare, and the deposit was £150 each. They are 19 days and 21 days, if that makes a difference.
We booked two cruises on board, select fare, one 7 days and one 14 days and the deposit was £50 each for the 7 days and £100 each for the 14

We booked whilst on board which has gone through our usual TA.

We haven’t received anything yet for our two cruises in 2024. It definitely can’t be age related as we are 81 and 76, not that we need any assistance.

I hope you have a fantastic time on your Britannia cruise

As promised I have come back onto this forum to let you know how we enjoyed our first ever cruise. All in all we had a very enjoyable time, the only downside really was the so called App, which for some reason just stopped working at crucial times, probably because everyone was trying to access it at the same time. We did manage to get the dining times we wanted probably because we like to eat early so joined the queue when it opened at 5.45pm. I would like to thank everyone who responded to my original worries and concerns about cruising and also to AndyMichelle for the tip about dropping off our luggage early and then walking across the park for lunch, as our embarkation time wasn’t until 3.45pm, We arrived back at the terminal at 3.00pm and were allowed to go straight on board as there were no queues. I was told cruising was addictive, and so it would seem as we have booked two more cruises for next year. Once again many thanks to everyone who responded offering advice and reassurance.

You will probably all think I'm daft, but I feel very happy the way we have all rallied round to reassure Lucysnan. We all have different opinions on things. Yet we saw a need and responded. We are nice people. 😄Go us!
I think you are all nice people, you must be to have responded to my worries and doubts as you all did. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your reassurances.

Thank you all for your positive posts, they have helped to put things into perspective, and I will definitely post with my findings, whatever they may be, on my return.

Don't worry you will love it and be back for more.
We were on in October. I was looking on the boards before we went. Everything was doom and gloom. We had one of our best cruises. Not because of the ports but the atmosphere on the ship. After a rubbish couple of years everyone was determined to enjoy themselves. I think that is still happening.
Also I have been coming on here for a few years now and people have been complaining all that time!😄
🙂🙂

Thank you Andy, I think we must be on the same cruise and I feel a bit more confident now that I have had some reassurance from experienced cruisers.

It's not all bad... We are on Britannia end of June too😂
This will be our first cruise since lock down, but am still confident we will have a great time.
It's a lovely ship and the Fjords are stunning.
The truth is, P&O have never been perfect but we have had many great holidays with them.
I'm expecting standards to being a bit lower, but we can cope with that.
Andy
Britannia today, any questions?

We saw Kevin Simm in the Limelight on Britannia in June last year. He was excellent, lovely voice and good rapport with the audience.
