I think you would be OK. I recently had to do a ship-change but the low water was between Nuremberg and Passau.
We left Nuremberg and are in Passau today and there was no issue with water levels. October is a ways off so I suggest watching this forum and not being concerned. If it needs to happen then it will happen.
Have a great trip!- 1

Thank you once again for the helpful information. We are on the Main River outside of Bamberg heading toward Nuremberg. We have not been alerted that there is any problem with the water levels that would cause us to change ships. It is what it is. VRC did mention the maximum water levels would be 570 cm.
I don’t think low water will be an issue now.
We’ve had a wonderful trip, rain, sun and clouds.- 1

Excellent news, Glad the river is at 337cm and hopefully more water for farmers etc. We leave Tuesday for our cruise on the Viking Ve. Now if we can just get some sleep on our flight :).
We’re excited to see Europe again! -
Good news for the Danube Valley and the water levels. Thanks to “Notamermaid” for all of the helpful updates. Our cruise is next week and we may sail through!

Belated welcome to Cruise Critic and the River Cruising Forum, @ColterBay23
It hasn't come up in these first few posts, but often it's easier for folks to give tailored answers if you add some hint of where you live in your profile. Even just the country is helpful, but a state will really help if you ask questions about e.g. airfare.
Thank you for the welcome Jazzbeau. For the record I’m in the USA and looking forward to visiting EU soon.

Same cruise itinerary as us too but we are departing Amsterdam on 18/8 with Travelmarvel.
Travelmarvel looks like a really good cruise trip. We’ll look into this in the future.
I have special situation with my diet, VRC is very helpful here (I’ll tip well). -

Welcome to Cruisecritic.
It is actually a little on the cool side for July in Germany. No summer heat at all right now.
Have a great cruise.

Hello, I am new to this forum and appreciate all of your most helpful information. We are cruising from Amsterdam to Budapest 8/29 and glad to see the water levels
are improving, not just for our cruise but for all who depend on the rivers and water. What are your temps like lately? Hopefully EU is cooling off.
Thank you 🌻

We arrived at Passau today, the confluence of the Danube and Inn rivers. (After the Main river)
Beautiful day, although warm 80 degrees.
