Quick Shuttle (access at quickcoach.com) , leaves from Canada Place cruise ship level 9:10am, scheduled to arrive SeaTac at 2:00pm, as noted by Cruise Raider.

I've used this fine, fine business several times, very professional, easy to book, easy to find the bus..

Murphy's Law applies at the border and around both cities (and that would affect the Princess transfer as well), but they've always been on schedule for me.

That's what I'd do anyway with a 4:10pm flight out of Seattle.

The problem with Quick Shuttle is that you are not assured to be the first ones to disembark, but using Princess shuttle you are going to be one of the first ones as you have a shuttle. And for the day I'm arriving to Vancouver, the price is $50 each, so not big difference with Princess shuttle.

I had the next one to get to Seattle, but then Alaska Airlines changed our flight to an earlier one, so I had to get to the airport much earlier than expected. let's see if Quick Shuttle refund me the money as the shuld.

By the way, Alaska Airlines changed my flight and they didn't send me anything regarding this. I heard about the change as I had a look to the prices to see if thay have increased or not, and I noticed my flight wasn't there anymore. Is this a common procedure?

  2. Hi!

We have our flight at 16:10 from Seattle, and we are looking for a transfer from Vancouver to the Seattle airport. Will we get there on time if we book the transfer with Princess? Have you used it before. If so, what time does it leave from Vancouver?

    Best regards!

Check what is the fare for the next category up? If it is close to the fare you paid for your lower category, then you are always allowed to ‘upgrade’ yourself by saying you would like to pay to upgrade to the next higher category.

My friend did this after final payment recently, the next category was actually about $30 less, and the Princess agent issued a credit for the difference. YMMV.

From your signature, you are in Spain? Rules vary by country. My friends experience was for a booking made in the US.

Yes, I'm from Spain, but I did my booking directly with the US site over the chat. I'll have a look to that option, I didn't know about it.

I’ve called three different agents. Asked for stateroom credit, room upgrade - whatever they can do as I’m 40 days away. Every response was “ the price is for new bookings only. If you would like to cancel and rebook “

It's the same answer I'm getting. It would mean a $150 reduction, so not worth the effort and mess.

  5. Hi!

What are your experiences about cruise price dropping after the final payment? I did the reservation directly with Princess through the chat, and the price have dropped almost 500$. Could I ask for some onboard credit, upgrade, or fare reduction?

    Best regards!

Meh.  When you put numbers to it, it becomes pretty clear that this isn't true.  At the end of the day, if a person spent $1,000 to be on this cruise to nowhere, they will have spent $250 for 7 days enjoying the ship's food, drinks and entertainment.  Assuming that there isn't one other single redeeming factor of this cruise, that comes to $35 per day for only those things that I mentioned.  Of course, during the course of that week, there was angst, anger and uncertainty, and that surely eats into the overall enjoyment, but those are intangibles.  And as they say on TV...But wait!  There's more!  That same person gets to book a replacement cruise that presumably will hit all the places that this cruise did not and their $1,000 cruise will cost them $250 of new money. Add it all up, and that is 14 days on a ship with full use of the ship's services and entertainment, of which around 7 days are sea days (some on this cruise and some on the next cruise) and around 7 days are spent enjoying the ports on this itinerary.  All this for $500, or $35 per day.  Yes, there is the inconvenience of having to travel all the way back to Alaska, but if that is a hardship, the replacement cruise can be to any location.  I truly feel for the people who are missing out on this cruise, but it's not as if they were spending it on a ship that was dead in the water with no electricity, plumbing or food.  When the 75% refund and 75% FCC is overlaid on top of this, I'd say that this is pretty good compensation.

What is good for you, may be not good for someone else. For example, in my case, I have to travel from Spain to Vancouver to take the cruise. If the cruise company does that to me, I wouldn't mind about getting all those perks, as getting to Alaska, spending my one and only yearly vacation time, and coming back, would be equally expensive and useless. Maybe your cup of tea is not mine. Remember, there are many factors behind every single passenger, and not all of them are the same.

    Original Itinerary was:

    5/11 Vancouver

    5/12 At Sea

    5/13 Ketchikan (skipped)

    5/14 Juneau (late)

    5/15 Skagway

    5/16 Glacier Bay (cancelled)

    5/17 College Fjord (cancelled)

    5/18 Whittier

So looks like they cancelled Glacier Bay & College Fjord (last I heard) to let them get to Whittier on time....

What a disaster... There is not enough compensation for that mess. We will sail on her on mid-August. Let's hope everything will be solved by then. And, if not, let's hope they say something well before for us to cancel the cruise and taking a new one. As we are travelling from Spain for this cruise, it is not just a simple cruise missed for us.

    $1.50 or $1,500?

It should now be $×(the original amount) less the $1.50 (or $1,500) just paid. I have never been able to overpay. If I later change something (like lowering airfare) and have a credit then I am refunded that in a few days, but might have to contact my CVP to trigger it

It was $1.50, I have just double checked it again. It was like checking the card to know if it was correct or not, but they haven't charged me the full amount since then.

  9. Yesterday, I tried making my final payment for my upcoming cruise. I filled all the neccessary information, and I was charged just 1,50$ instead of the full amount. Obviously, it still says I have to pay for full before May 12th. Is that a normal procedure? Will I be charged after a few days? I'm afraid of doing it again and be charged double! Thanks in advance!

  10. Hello!

We are a Spanish couple planning an Alaska cruise on the Summit for 2024 summer. We have 7 cruises with Holland America Line, 1 with Princess and another with MSC (never again! 😅), but never with Celebrity. We have heard really good things about them, that's why we wanted to try them.

As usual suspects with Holland America, we know all the little tricks to enjoy them and to save some money. But one of the things we don't like about them is that they don't treat European and American customers the same way. For example, they don't give the same prices, offers or upgrades. Have you ever received anything like that being European with Celebrity?

I have found that Celebrity offers a bidding option for their cruises. How does it work? Do they also do it for Europeans? Is it just for customers booking directly with them or also through a Travel Agent?

About dining options. One of the thinghs we don't like about is the limited hours to have lunch or dinner. Being Spanish, we like having lunch and dinner later than Americans, so sometimes we are a bit upset when we try to have lunch after a tour at 15 or 16 o'clock and you don't find anything open except for burgers. Anything different?

I'm sure I will have loads of other questions, but, for now, it's more than enough. Best regards!
