  1. The Pearl spa is wonderful. Passes can be purchased for entire cruise. If not sold out, daily passes can be purchased. There is co-ed area with heated tile loungers, lounge chairs, thasso-therapy pool, and whirlpool. Hot tea, ice water and fresh fruit is always available. Towels and robes are also provided. In addition there is a ladies only and men only area where there is a sauna, steam room, Japanese plunge pool, lounge chairs and an individual whirlpool. Well worth cost. Spa is adult only.

  2. Got the call Tuesday. Up sold from mini-suite to 2-bedroom suite. It has been several years since we sailed in a suite. What has changed with amenities. Noticed new bag tags do not show "suite" or "priority", nor does the new boarding document. Do non haven suite guests check in the "lounge area"? Also, is breakfast/lunch at Cagney for all suites or haven guests only? We really enjoyed Cagney's, it was our favorite perk. We will be on the Pearl departing next Monday, Panama Canal. Super excited! Thank you.

  3. I've been blessed to have been to Hubbard Glacier, Tracy Arm (Twin Sawyer Glaciers) and Glacier Bay. My favorite cruise is from Vancouver doing the entire Inside Passage visiting both Hubbard Glacier (my favorite) and Glacier Bay. That being said Tracy Arm is also beautiful, make sure the excursion is available when you travel-smaller boat (departed from Juneau shortly before the Jewel sailed) and you get much closer to the glacier than the ship. You meet the ship and board before it sails out of Tracy Arm. It was a pricey excursion but whole family agreed it was SO worth it, best excursion of the trip. A balcony cabin for Alaska cruise is also worth the cost if at all possible. Spent a lot of time watching for whales, sea otters etc. while sailing the Inside Passage. Just thinking about it and I am ready to go again. No matter which cruise you choose, Alaska is SPECTACULAR!

  4. Been on both ships. Liked both equally. Love aft cabin for Alaska sailing. Would choose Sawyer over Glacier Bay ONLY if excursion is offered from Juneau that meets the ship before leaving Sawyer. Thatbeing said, you will enjoy either. Alaska cruise is spectacular!

  5. This cruise has a great itinerary-visiting both Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier. You won't be sorry. I am booked with two friends for the same cruise. I have been several times and chose this specifically because of Hubbard Glacier-this was glacier visited on my first Alaska cruise and have always wanted a chance to go back. You may want to check airfares as you consider the cost-fares are extremely high for us coming from the midwest, at least right now.

  6. The first time, we took the train. It was enjoyable but not much space outside between cars to take pictures. It was the 3-hour or half day excursion. When we went back again, we took the tour by bus that went up to the Yukon. It was a full day-enjoyed the picture stops along the way, lunch was great and Emerald Lake beautiful.
