I was told by Oceania that the OBC could not be used to buy the excursion. Going to Cuba and the cost of excursions are quite high. The cost of my excursions exceeded the amount of onboard credit. One thing I was not happy about was the fact that not all of their excursions qualified for the free excursion.

We have 3 in our cabin also. I believe only the first 2 receive the free excursions. We also have to pay the airfare for the 3rd.

Thanks that is reassuring. I have used him before and was very satisfied.

We will be in port from 10:30-5:30. Booked excursion to Stingray City with Captain Marvins. I originally wanted the 11:15 but he said we would not make this tour and so he booked us on the 1:45 tour. Since the tour is about 3 hours do you think this would work?

We have used "Captain Marvins"-very satisfied.

I learned something new today after being a member of CC for 7 years. I did not know I could subscribe to a thread-what a great thing.
Also the pile of rocks is known as a cairn. I always thought they were some mystical thing because the first time I saw them was in Sedona Arizona.

We have taken 2 cruises, one on the Sun and another on the Jewel with our 2 teenage sons. We enjoyed all being in the same room. Lots of opportunities for talks. On the Jewel however the 4th bed comes out of the ceiling and did block the balcony. If you have a balcony it does give you more room.
NCL The Vinales Valley - A UNESCO World Heritage Site Excursion: Has anyone done it?

Just came back on the 11th of May. We did this excursion with Oceania Cruise Line. It was a very long day-probably about 10 hours. It takes 3 hours just to get to the Valley-our bus was very nice with a bathroom and air conditioning. We visited a Farm where the farmer grew tobacco. He also made a cigar by hand-interesting. Then we went to a rum"factory" The equipment didn't work so the women just explained everything-sort of a let down. We did get a chance to sample the rum-very potent. We then went for a Cuban lunch-very good. After that we went to a place where there was a mural on the walls of the mountain-ok. It was a long trip and just ok.
