  1. Cruise leaves on a Sunday and we arrive on Friday at midnight. It’s me and my 18 year old son so I’m wondering if we should just stay in Orlando and Uber or shuttle it Sunday morning? And how reliable is the transportation? The hotels appear to be cheaper as well..I keep debating what is the best to do. TIA!

Oh, I love this! I, too, used to be anti-lanyard.... but then I realized the practicality of it, so I made a few fashionable adjustments.

My mother came up with this creative idea. It's a stretchy wrist bracelet with a lanyard sleeve so you can wear your SeaPass on your wrist at the pool.

My mom gifted them to all of the girls on Rachel's Bachelorette Cruise, and they came in super handy. Prime use case example on Coco Cay -

And for the evenings, I don't like to carry a purse because I carry a camera, but my dresses don't have pockets for my phone or SeaPass. Enter this adorable Bandolier phone case! It's on a purse chain and can carry my SeaPass. I love it so much, I have it in two different styles.

Something else that's super handy are these plastic sleeves for your luggage tags. My dad legit used to travel with a stapler to staple these to our bags. This is much easier. They're affordable, and you can reuse on future cruises.

For stateroom organization, heavy-duty magnetic hooks are really a game changer. I use them to hang necklaces, hats, bags, you name it!

Where did you get the wrist thing with the sleeve? Were going to the water park and this would be handy

Travel wash detergent (for sink washing)

    Stain stick (travel size)

100 to 200 packets of individual hand wipes (wet wipes)

    Lysol wipes (travel size)

Zip lock bags in every size (for whatever)

Trash bags white and black (for whatever)

    Room/bed spray travel size (lavender)

Definitely your own shampoo/conditioner - your hair well thank you.

Lots of lip balm or even a small Vaseline tube. L

    cash

A collapsible small luggage/bag for those extra shopping.

If you have pets - pics you can tape to the wall. f

    Lots of underwear/Bras.

I always bring my own and body wash etc. Do you only use cash on the islands?

    No to lanyards.

Yes to more cash /fewer clothes.

We do enjoy having a couple magnetic hooks to keep our hats and paperwork up /off the limited counter space.

ENO hammocks are the best, as they can be pitched anywhere.

The cabin steward will give you an extra blanket.

The room will not contain pen /notepads -- we don't even see these in hotels anymore.

We never bring enough that we'd need extra bags to carry it home.

Open your suitcase in the bottom of the closet and use it for dirty clothes -- no need to bring anythings extra.  Drop in a few dryer sheets.

Yes, bringing your own sodas is a frugal choice.

Ladies will appreciate having their own shampoo /conditioner -- the all-in-one stuff is fine as body wash but not as shampoo.

Yes to bringing over-the-counter meds.  That's one area not to skimp.

In that vein, bring plenty of sunscreen and chapstick -- such things cost so much more on the ship or in port.

Think about bringing an analog watch.  You know it won't switch time zones on you.  I have a small watch on a carabiner, which I keep clipped on my backpack.

I enjoy having a small pool bag to for use on the ship.  I think mine's actually a bath bag -- it was originally a gift from my MIL and was full of Bath & Body Works products.

    Why no to lanyards?

We always drive down and have always stayed near the port.  Sadly the price in Canaveral for all hotels has gotten ridiculous.

Now we book early and stay in Titusville.   Rates are so much better (if you book early) and we are only 20 min to the port.

Is the availability of Ubers good in that area? I was also looking at cocoa beach
