  1. Very helpful information. We are flying into JFK,so will take a taxi to the port. After the cruise, we are staying a few extra days in New York City. The taxi just seems easier in most ways and the price is the best as far as cost....NCL transfers are 40.00per person and the shuttles run about 35.00 per person...so a 55.00 or so cab ride is still a bargain. Thanks!!

  2. Very excited about our cruise!! Going to CA/NE in October on Gem. We originally booked a suite, but decided this time to save the extra $ and are now in a BB. Our friends that are meeting us are in an interior cabin. They like that. They are all nice (cabins). Suites do have wonderful privileges, though. It is all good!!!I am happy to know the MDR will be open, we might have missed that embarkation day, and after flights and such, it will be a welcome respite!!! Thank you!

  3. Wow, I am booked at the Holiday Inn Express Airport/Cruise hotel and am going to pay 189.00 per night! I figure I can use the Priority Club Points, and they have a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel.....but I would imagine that is standard. Maybe I should look into the LaQuinta and Priceline, but I am so scared of those types of sites. Suggestions? Sailing out of POM, but will pay for a shuttle such as SAS to get us there and back to FLL.

  4. Great thread! Thank you so much to everyone!!! We have booked cabin # 13287 (aft balcony, starboard) and are very excited! The cabins are so *small* (compared to other ships) but the balcony and the views probably cannot be beat!!! Thanks to all and to the picture posters as well! Most helpful! Just hoping sink isn't in my head! Dee
